'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Martin Dahlin Interview (Part 4)

AFTER FOOTBALL

Since your playing career ended you've moved into the field of a football agent (your agency is called mdm I believe?), what made you choose this area?

After I stopped playing I travelled around the world a couple of times and just enjoyed myself, after I while I was bored so I decided to be involved with football again. I am not the type who wants to lead a whole team so I decided to become an agent.

Is it true that you only act as an agent for Scandinavian and some German footballers? If true I'd assume this is because of your background?

Most of the players I represent are Scandinavians or Germans.

And what else have you done since you stopped playing?

I have been working with my clothing line "dahlin". You can find our products in almost 300 stores in Scandinavia. www.dahlin.nu.

Going back to your agency work I was wondering if you could give us some inside information on any up-and-coming stars you have? Perhaps some exciting Scandinavian talent because Blackburn have a strong history of signing players from those countries!

Markus Rosenberg (Werder Bremen), Mikael Antonsson (Panathinaikos) Andreas Granqvist (Wigan), Jonas Olsson (NEC Nijmegen) Oscar Wendt (FC Copenhagen) Petter Andersson (Hammarby), Ola Toivonen (Malmö FF) MC Donald Mariga (Helsingborg) Jimmy Dixon (Malmö FF) are all young talented players.

Also do you have any plans for contacting Blackburn about any of your clients or have you already? If so which ones will they be, or were they as he case may be?

?

Another interesting read, Part four was going to be followed with a Part Five, but I've decided to combine this into one, so here is the final segment.

HIS OWN PERSONAL FUTURE & HIS VIEWS ON ROVERS'

Did you not like the idea of becoming coach or manager yourself? Personally with the quality you had as a player I think you would and still could make a top class coach on manager!

Maybe in the future.

Having already achieved so much during your lifetime what are your hopes and aspirations for the future?

To get married and have kids with my wonderful girlfriend.

I don't know if you follow Blackburn much anymore, but if you do what do you predict for the clubs future? Can they reach the heights they once achieved when they won the Premiership Title and is Mark Hughes the man to take us there?

I am sure Mark Hughes I the right man for the job but it will be extremely difficult to win the Premiership again.

Again, this depends on how much you follow Blackburn, but Mark Hughes and the fans want European Football for year-in-year out can you see this happening?

Yes, if they can keep their best players.

Once again this depends on how much you follow Blackburn but how do you see this season panning out for Blackburn?

With a bit of luck they will play in Europe next year again.

So there you have it folks, this concludes the Vital Blackburn interview with Martin Dahlin, hopefully you've enjoyed it?

Good read al in all NDM mate, shame hes a tad vague on some aspects tho. I bet all those players mentioned are on his books tho!!! Oh and Donald Mariga was the only one ive heard of FWIW
BomBom
NDM is my less known alter-ego LOL :) He was vague as you say with some things but we can't grumble too much can we, at least he took the time, which we appreciate. I bet they are all on his books as you say, I've heard of Andreas Granqvist (Wigan) and Oscar Wendt (FC Copenhagen) from the names he mentions
Hughes Da Man
how did you get hold of that interview ... really good read !! wonder if he will be mentioning any future stars to Hughes lol !!

Some months ago I made contact with Martin Dhalin, and it just moved on from there. From beginning to end it probably took seven or eight months but it's been worth it :)
