Benni To Net 20-25 Goals?

Benni To Net 20-25 Goals?
Benni McCarthy is just a couple of goals shy of a season's tally of 20, so surely 20-25 goals will be achieved by Benni McGoalmachine? 48% certainly think so; whilst 35% think he can go even better and finish with a whopping 25 plus. I know he;s good but even the South African hitman will have to go some to get this, especially on Saturday's showing! The 17% of you that think that he will struggle to get many more goals to make or break the 20-goal barrier surprise me, even after Saturday's showing…

So in summary
15-20 - 17%
20-25 - 48%
Surely not… 25 plus - 35%

After the controversy of the second West Ham United goal in Rovers' 2-1 defeat on Saturday the issue of goal line technology has AGAIN been raise so the current poll is asking, How desperately does football need goal line technology?

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

Benni McGoalmachine WILL score at least 20 goals this season, 20-25 got my vote. As for the current poll I'm not entirely sure where I stand about video replays etc. throughout the game but SURELY goalline technology has to come into play, it's costing so many teams, not just Rovers so much grief but not having anything!!!

I'm pretty much open minded about the use of technology in the game. Provided it doesn't interfere too much then i don't have an issue with it - Goal line sensors would be so easy and cheap to implement, would give 99.99% accuracy on an incredibly hard to spot decision, and would not affect the flow of the game in the slightest. I can't even think of a single arguement against it. It needs bringing in now.

Goal line technology for me is a MUST! Other areas would be useful, for debatable penalties etc. but maybe you lose something from the game if you have replays for this? I know it may seem like it's contradicting by saying "dodgy penalties" should stand but "dodgy goals" shouldn't but at least with a penalty you still have a 50:50 chance of the goal not being scored, debatable goals are 100% for or 100% against with no reprieve. Goals WIN and LOSE matches goal line technology will insure the right calls are made and will only take seconds to check. Lets face it that goal could cost us millions, and even players if we miss out on Europe next season as a result!!!

My sentiments exactly - I can take the dodgy penalty decisions (i don't like them, but i can take them) as they are invariably open to interpretation. Even after watching them replayed all weekend, there are still discussions as to whether the decision was correct. With "crossed the line" there is no debate involved - It's a yes or no answer, and has cropped up enough times in history to be worth it. We've had two this season alone.

i agree about the technology side of things especailly for the ones that do or do not cross the line as this is an easy call!! they do it in rugby with great sucess and does not take long to call, just look at the 'goal' at the weekend and of course that great goal that Spurs 'didnt' score against Utd, which did everything but burst the back of the net
21/03/2007 15:57:00
oh and Benni should score at least 20 this season, hopefully one of these will be the winner in the FA Cup Final
21/03/2007 15:59:00
If we make it to the FA Cup Final confidence will be sky high so you'd expect Benni McGoalmachine to be closer to 25 by the time the Cup Final comes round.

Technology is quick and easy isn't it Clint and would cause no less of a disruption than the arguments that break out when such things occur anyway would it!?!?! People push and shove, remonstate with the ref and linesman so by the time that's sorted a good minute or two, maybe longer passes. You'd be long underway again with technology.
