Christopher Samba Top Rovers Defender

New signing Samba has made quite an impact at Ewood Park since his arrival from Hertha Berlin so a series of fine performances this month saw him claim the Defender of the Month honour, and rightly so with 38%. Joining Samba in the overall vote will be Brad Friedel who came a close second with 29%, having won the two previous months.

The impressive Stephen Warnock came third earning 14%; maybe he will feel he deserved a larger share with the returning Ryan Nelsen coming in fourth with 11%, again maybe a touch lower than it maybe could have been? Brett Emerton (6%) and Zurab Khizinashvilli (2%) completed the vote.

So in summary
Brett Emerton - 6%
Brad Friedel - 29%
Zurab Khizinashvilli - 2%
Ryan Nelsen - 11%
Christopher Samba - 38%
Stephen Warnock -14 %

Again sadly no image yet! A worthy winner though, a VERY good month for a lot of defender (and Friedel).

Sambs did well but surely Nelsen and Freidal should have fought this one out, well I think so anyway

I have to admit I was surprised that Stevie Warnock and the Admiral didn't get a higher share of the vote but the Beast did have an outstanding month, especially when you take into account that he's new to the club, the country and the Premiership. To keep Arsenal quiet twice in as many weeks, being one of the best defenders, if not the best on show in both ties takes something. Bradders ALWAYS produces, so will almost always be right up there in the running... at least he should be.

Steve, Ryan, Brad and even Zurab have been excellent so far all of them putting in very good performances but Chris has stolen the show and edged it for me...
Ex Ewood Resident
He's been AWESOME hasn't he.

I have been hugely impressed with him. I agree though, God, Stevie, Zurab and Brad have been tremendous too. Lets hope for another shut-out on sunday.
