Derbyshire the Partner for Benni

With 46% of the vote the majority see Rovers young starlet Matt Derbyshire as the ideal partner for Benni McCarthy, when fit of course (works out nicely with the picture being used!) With 31% voting in favour of the recently returning from a long term lay off Jason Rovers, so he wasn't far behind.

The "fox in the box" Francis Jeffers was a surprise third choice runner, with 11% thinking that maybe he should get his chance with the often preferred choice earlier in the season of Shabani Nonda the joint outsider with Paul Gallagher on 6%.

So in summary
Matt Derbyshire - 46%
Paul Gallagher - 6%
Francis Jeffers - 11%
Shabani Nonda - 6%
Jason Roberts - 31%

With the FA Cup fifth round against Arsenal coming up on Sunday the current poll is asking, How far (be honest… not just hopeful!) will Rovers go in the FA Cup?

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

Personally I think a fully fit and ready JR is the man just at this moment in time despite my high regards for Derbs, but I honestly wouldn't have any qualms with Derbs playing every match when fit, and think he will play a part in pretty much every match that remains this season when he is over his injury.

Yep, same here. Roberts when fully fit (which he isn't at the moment) I think with Roberts doing the grafting, holding the ball up, winning headers, chasing down etc and McCarthy adding that touch of style and picking up all the pieces, they have the makings of a great partnership.
Head Rover Heels
They certainly do. He showed glimpses on Wednesday what he's about didn't he, when he's fully fit we'll see more of that and A LOT more. Derbs will play his part though this season and still has A LOT of goals and games in his this season and WAY, WAY beyond.
Hughes Da Man
Totally agree. Hope Derbys gets fit sooner rather than later. How about giving Jeffers a chance to prove himself for a full 90 minutes? I'll never foget what a great player he used to be, and there's no use for him to sit on the bench the entire season , is it?
Who do you leave out for Jeffers though?? Injuries may give him a chance tomorrow but I'd think Nonda will be next in line but you never know. He hasn't really had a chance to show what he can do has he, 10-15 minutes here and there isn't time to prove yourself is it as it can take this to just get into the game.
Hughes Da Man
Yeah I think Nonda will get the nod tomorrow, and rightly so. Although I'm hoping Derbs starts. So pleased to have him back as I think he will give us more than JR will, even when JR is fully fit!
