Walter Crook the Man to Beat

Walter Crook the Man to Beat
As govtpros continues his campaign to make sure that Blackburn Rovers Football Club's past is not forgotten; and not just the immediate past or present focused on (something that I and quite a few people are in full support of I must add) he set you a poll that required some possible research before voting, if people wanted or indeed needed to?

With 208 consecutive League appearances between 1934 and 1946 Walter Crook was the man we were looking for, only 17% were right!!! That is staggering...

Govtpros added this, which he wanted me to share:

"To assist in teaching our younger fans about Blackburn Rovers Football Club's historical players, perhaps this could be added to the answer page?"

Derek Fazackerley - 38, 1969-87 Most League Cup appearances.
Terry Gennoe - 289, 1981/82 - 1990/91 Most League appearances by a
goalkeeper
Ronnie Clayton - 56, 1949-1969 Most FA Cup appearances.
Harry Dennison - aged 16yrs, 155 days v Bristol City Div 1, 8th April 1911
Youngest player to appear for Rovers.
Denis Maxwell - aged 18, 193 days, 2001-2006 Best programme seller ever to
work for Rovers.

So in summary
Ronnie Clayton - 50%
Walter Crook - 17%
Harry Dennison - 4%
Derek Fazackerley - 17%
Terry Gennoe - 8%
Denis Maxwell - 4%

As the search for the Greatest Ever Blackburn Rovers Squad nears an end the current poll is asking, Greatest Ever Rovers Squad - Central Midfield. Remember the top 4 get in!

17% getting it right is a pretty poor return if we are honest isn't it!

Aye you did. Wanted to join in with you on the thread to say "touche!" but then thought I'd better not for the sake of the poll. I know polls are open to anyone and not only vital rovers members would have voted but even so I'd have thought a higher proportion than 17% would have known it?

I'm not totally sure BomBom, know its 230 odd League and Cup games in total, made his 200th League appearance recently but not all of these were strung together were they, Enckleman came in for a few games a couple of years back didn't he when Bradders was injured. I'd say that if he'd made 100 consecutive appearances though I'd be surprised?
