Brad Friedel Top Rovers Defender

Friedel has been a model of consistency this season, every season for that matter and after picking up the Award for Defender/Goalkeeper of the Month in December (going on to claim the overall Player of the Month!) with the majority of the vote (69%) he again comfortably wins and advances to the poll to determine the Player of the Month for January. Joining Friedel in the overall vote will be Zurab Khizinashvilli who came second with 19%.

The final four players all tied with 3% each.

So in summary
Brad Friedel - 69%
Brett Emerton - 3%
Stephane Henchoz - 3%
Zurab Khizinashvilli - 19%
Lucas Neill - 3%
Andre Ooijer - 3%

As the search for January's Player of the Month continues the current poll is asking, "Midfielder of the Month for January?."

PLEASE NOTE: The positional votes are going to be quick fire 24-hour ones so get your votes in quick!

As good as Bradders has been (as always) had we had Stevie Warnock all month on what we've seen so far I think he'd have been in with a real shout? Well played Bradders again, he's so good that we often fail to acknowledge this, just take it for granted don't we.

Some of the saves that he made on wednesday at Chelsea....WOW. Wouldve been soo much more than 3 if he hadnt been playing.

He does this EVERY match doesn't he. He's a keeper that rarely takes a chance, if he can't claim he'll beat or punch the ball away won't he.

Freidel is def one of the best in the league - even in vetern stage - very rarly lets the team down. I rate this guy so highly, he'll nearly be impossible to replace, but eventually everyone has to be

I still think he would walk into any team in the premiership, even possibly in the top teasm in europe. If he was British, he wouldve been one of the home nations No. 1 since 2000!
