Greatest Ever Rovers Squad: Right-backs

Greatest Ever Rovers Squad: Right-backs
The most recent Poll continued this search for the "Greatest Ever Rovers Squad - Right-backs." The names had been suggested and the votes cast. With the option of these six legendary Rovers right-backs…

Bob Crompton
Jeff Kenna
Lucas Neill
Keith Newton
Chris Price
Dave Whelan

You have voted Bob Crompton (32%) & Lucas Neill (37%) into the Greatest Ever Squad.

Unfortunately Jeff Kenna (19%), Keith Newton (8%), Chris Price (2%) & Dave Whelan (2%) miss out this time!

Remember the squad can be changed down the line at your request. Simply suggest the player you feel should come out (and why?) along with the man you feel should come in (and again why?) and it will be put to the vote!

Just to recap this squad will comprise of the following:

3 Goalkeepers

2 Left-backs (or Wing-backs)
4 Centre-backs
2 Right-backs (or Wing-backs)

2 Left-midfielders (or Wingers)
4 Central Midfielders
2 Right-midfielders (or Wingers)

4 Forwards

Next up for selection will be left-midfielders (or left-wingers) so look out for these soon!

With Steven Reid suffering another injury setback just when we though he might return we will miss him for the remainder of the season. With this in mind the current poll is asking, "From those available who could we LEAST afford to be without at present?"

Congratulations to right-back's Bob Crompton and Lucas Neill for their induction into our Greatest Ever Squad. These players were voted in by you the Vital Blackburn members so what do you think?

Had Bob Crompton not have made it in I think we would have seriously had to look at ourselves! Mr Blackburn COULDN’T have EVER been left out! Even with the uncertainty (in as much as where will he go!) surrounding Lucas Neill aside I can't believe that he would be voted ahead of Crompton. Arguably Kenna and Newton could and maybe should have given Neill a better run for his money?

I voted for Newton as a left-back and a right-back as he was pure class! I shared my views on Lucas Neill a while back but not sure anyone saw them? There is NO WAY, as good as he is or might think he is he is NOT the greatest ever right-back.

I'd have to agree with u Hughes Da...... I dont think that Neill is the greatest ever!! Did Henning Berg make into the centreback list as he playered as riteback in the league winning side. Newton and Crompton should have gone through on this, although I voted for Bob and not Eddie

Yeah Berg made it in as a central defender. Go to the drop down menu along the top of the page Clint and check out "Greatest Ever Rovers Squad" and you'll see. I don't often make multiple votes but with two on offer here my votes went to Crompton and Newton.
