Brad Friedel Player of the Month (December)

Brad Friedel Player of the Month (December)
Last months runner up Brad Friedel has gone one better this time round and claimed the crown of Decembers Player of the Month with 39%.

With 25% Benni McCarthy finished runner-up with Andre Ooijer and the winner for the past two-months Tugay finishing joint third on 15% each.

Shabani Nonda and Robbie Savage complete the poll with 4% and 2% respectively.

So Friedel has quite rightly been voted December's Player of the Month after a string of fine performances and some match winning (and saving!) saves!

So in summary
Brad Friedel - 39%
Benni McCarthy - 25%
Shabani Nonda - 4%
Andre Ooijer - 15%
Robbie Savage - 2%
Tugay - 15%

So the search for December's Player of the Month has ended with Brad Friedel taking the crown, the current poll is asking, "What was Decembers top Goal?"

You decide so cast your vote (don't forget you can view the goals before you vote!) and why not have your say on the latest polls findings…

Bradders is so good that his performances often go unnoticed; glad it wasn't the case for December. He made some crucial saves winning and saving us several points. Feel for Sav as I think his month warranted more than the 2% he got, and maybe even Nonda, did he not deserve more than 4%???

I think it was the right result. Brad has been exceptional all seaon but has claimed the spotlight this month with a string of excellent saves. I agree that it's a tad unlucky on Nonda who has been the most improved player over the month, hey there's an award for him!! Also I thought Benni deserved to be clear second. An excellent scoring record during Dec. Four in his last four, superb form.

Certainly agree, take the Liverpool match for instance... Freidel saves probably a potential 5 first half goals, Tugay sets up a goal and gets Man of the Match? Bizzare! Not taking anything away from Tugay hes been outstanding however Mr Peter Jackson really should see all the 11 players on the pitch................. WELL DESERVED BRADLEY!

Yeah Most Improved Player of the Month goes to Shabani Nonda, I like it roversman. Was a touch odd that Bradders didn't pick up the bubbly for the Liverpool match, Tugay had a good game but Bradders made save after save to keep us in and then hold on to what we had!

Friedel could easily win Rovers Player of the Decade, very rarely would he let us, or any team in the world down in fact!! The fact that there are a number of players that folk think should win or could have won is encouraging for the rest of the season, especailly since Savage only got 2% and Bentley and Emerton weren't in the running

All very true Clint Bents and Brett also had good months, I also thought Toddy has a steady month so for these to miss out of the final cut shows just how well EVERYONE has been playing!

Clint I like your thought on Bradders being Player of the Decade; why don't you start a new thread in the forum mate so we can discuss this. I'm sure you'll get a response.

Brad was the best to be fair. Its got to the point where he is so good that we take it for granted that he will be so good. What really annoys me is when you ever have a "whos the best goalkeeper in the Premier League?" thread on a Premier League website Brad never gets a mention. I would not swap him for another goalkeeper in the world....

He doesn't get a mention because he plays at Ewood Park! Amoung the goalkeeping institute I have no doubt he is rated very highly, speak to many and they'll rate him. I have to say I'd agree again Mikey, they're are some far bigger name players out there who are better than Bradders but even these fail to match him in his consistency, he rarely, if EVER has a bad game for Rovers, how many other keepers at various clubs can say that... not many.

Again Mikey start a thread in the forum, I'd say in the "open terrace" forum and maybe we'll get opposing fans joining in with their views on the Premierships best keeper? Should make for a good debate with a bit of banter, I'd also do something to sway people (including other fans!) in that direction.
