Reflection and Preview - Villa to Everton!

Last week we came up against Villa for the 100th time in the last 3 years. It wasn't great lets be honest. Kean had a selection nightmare as he failed to pick opening day goalscorer Mauro Formica in the attacking midfield role and went for a 4-4-2 away from home with Jason Roberts in the starting 11 up front with David Goodwillie. 4-4-2 away from home says enough. It was not a good move. Rovers lacked anything really an despite Steve Kean trying to put an infamous 'positive spin' on things, we were dire.

Kean seemingly learnt his lesson. Roberts out and Formica back in for the Carling cup tie with Sheffield Wednesday. 4-2-3-1 was back with Rochina, Formica and Pedersen in an attacking 3. It seemed to work an 3 goals in 6 minutes killed off the tie an we were through to the next round.

Up next: Everton.

Everton have had a poor start to the Premier League much like ourselves, which makes the up an coming game even more important. Generally the blue side of Liverpool usually start poorly in the season, so lets hope this run continues.

However the stats don't look goo for Rovers...

Blackburn have not scored in seven of the last 12 Premier League matches with Everton..

Everton have won three of the last four Premier League games with Blackburn and have lost just two of the last 12.

However on the up side:

David Moyes` side have won just two of their last 10 Premier League away matches.

Everton haven't scored a first half goal in their last seven Premier League games.

It will be an interesting game no doubt. We NEED a win.

Now it's time to make a starting 11 using a maximum of 7 players from each team.

Robinson

Heitinga Samba Jagielka Baines

Rodwell N'Zonzi

Hoilett Cahill Arteta

Goodwillie

My prediction for the game: 1-1.

On a final note:

If Blackburn lose this game, it will be the only time in 18 Premier League campaigns that they have failed to collect a point from their opening three games in a season.

No pressure then.

Hi lads, this is the only time I have ever said this, but I actually feel guilty for taking the 3pts, I wouldve been guilty taking a point, that was quiet honestly the worst performance I have ever seen from Everton. I genuinely feel sorry for your lot, you showed up and dominated the game.
