Reflection and Preview - Chelsea to West Brom

Reflection and Preview - Chelsea to West Brom
We went into the Chelsea game at a bad time. They had been doing poor in the league.. but then.. thrashed Ipswich 7-0 the weekend before playing us, just our luck eh?

First half I think we performed well. We managed to contain Chelsea and getting a couple of chances for ourselves. Jason Lowe came on and looked comfortable on his Premier League debut, going toe to toe with some of the worlds finest. We didn't look 10 places apart.. as we were last season.

Chelsea getting the first goal killed it for us. It was a scrappy affair and I think getting that demoralized us.. whilst lifting the pressure off them. From then on we didn't look capable of winning the game.

Today we face West Brom.. A team which we hold a very good record against. In the last 57 games, Rovers have won 35 and drawn 12. We have won 4 of our last 6 home games, losing just once. On top of that, West Brom have won 1 of their last 6 games, conceding 10 goals in the process.

The last 8 games between the sides are as follows:

2010

West Brom 1-3 Rovers

Rovers 0-0 West Brom

West Brom 2-2 Rovers

West Brom 2-0 Rovers

Rovers 2-0 West Brom

West Brom 1-1 Rovers

Rovers 1-1 West Brom

Rovers 1-1 West Brom

2002

Along with Santa Cruz pushing for a start, along with Jermaine Jones, Rovers could welcome back 3 players from injury for todays tie, putting us in a good position to take all 3 points today. Although.. Having Keith Andrews back may be a blessing in disguise for West Brom.. ;)

My Prediction:

Blackburn Rovers 4-2 West Brom

High scoring attacking football today I hope!
