Reflection and Preview - Sunderland to Liverpool

Last weekend saw another defeat for Rovers as the search for points continues. It was a just over £20 million which was the difference when Rovers met Sunderland last week. Two strikers who cost more than our entire starting line-up to be precise. Both Darren Bent and Asamoah Gyan sealed the win for Sunderland after a heavy deflection put them ahead early on.

We simply couldn't cope. Another defensive display like that against Liverpool tonight will NOT be acceptable. We need a win.

Shortly after the game at the weekend, a rather strange rumour was doing the rounds, that Rovers were after a certain Brazilian legend, surely not? Ronaldinho? In Blackburn? I don't think many people believed it. As the week unfolded it turned out that actually yes, it was true! We had been in contact with his agent! *Que excitement* As it turns out, It doesn't look like it is going to happen, but still, what a rumour!

On to the Liverpool game now. If history is anything to go by Rovers hold a slight advantage. In the last 71 games between the two sides, Rovers have won on 28 occasions, and Liverpool only having won 18.

HOWEVER...

Of the last 6 meetings between the sides, Rovers have not won any!

draw and 5 defeats! Things do not look good!

2010

Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

Liverpool 2-1 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers 0-0 Liverpool

Liverpool 4-0 Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn Rovers 1-3 Liverpool

Liverpool 3-1 Blackburn Rovers

2008

Much more effort and precision will be needed if Rovers are to get anything from the game tonight. It will come.. I am thinking positively (makes a change!)

My prediction:

Blackburn Rovers 2-0 Liverpool!

(I hope I get it right this week!)

Sorry for the rushed job with this one tonight.. Only just realised I hadn't done it!

Off to the game now! Cya later!

hope we get our regular back four back tonight at least and grind out a win.

Wish I could be more optimistic but I think we're gonna struggle tonight. We've got no Jones, Grella or N'Zonzi to hold the midfield together and Gerrard will be loving that. Torres seems to love playing against us as well the little girl. Hope i'm wrong and we win 2-0 lol

Couldn't have got it more wrong. Liverpool are in a shocking state. Great result for the Mighty Rovers. Panic put on hold again!! lol... Hope somebody in Brazil watches Match of the day and decides he wants £20m for 3 seasons work.
