Reflection & Preview - Stoke to West Brom

Reflection & Preview - Stoke to West Brom
Apologies for missing out this article for the Stoke game as I could not fit any time in on Christmas Day to write it! Anyway back to writing this one!

It was another case of 'we would have won this under Big Sam' at Ewood on Boxing day.. A total lack of plan and effort meant for a dire performance from the men in Blue and White halves. I won't go into too much detail as it was only yesterday I wrote the match report!

Now I know in the past I have been a Big Sam critic and some may call me hypocritical when I say we should have kept him. I would fully support the choice to sack him if it had been in the summer with a good replacement lined up, but for now he should have stayed.

The new man in charge Steve Kean was rather unimpressive. Whilst his counterpart in the opposite dugout was up dictating tactics and game plan to his players, Kean stood there with his hands in his pockets doing absolutely nothing watching his team fall apart on the field. Not good enough.

On to the next game! A visit to West Brom next, and boy is it another big game. Some say if Kean loses his job is gone, after only 3 games in charge. It is the type of game which has kept Rovers in the league for so long. Beating the teams around us.

The midlands are not happy hunting grounds for Rovers winning only one of the last 11 games there in the league. The last time we beat West Brom at The Hawthorns was in 2002 when Dwight Yorke and Damien Duff were the only scorers in a 2-0 win.

There looks to be goals in this one.. as Rovers have scored in 10 of their last 11 away games, and West Brom only keeping 2 clean sheets all season! Rovers have also failed to score in only 3 games so far this campaign.

Previous Results:

2009

Rovers 0-0 West Brom

West Brom 2-2 Rovers

West Brom 2-0 Rovers

Rovers 2-0 West Brom

West Brom 1-1 Rovers

Rovers 1-1 West Brom

Rovers 1-1 West Brom

2002

I don't have a good feeling about this game after the last 2 performances and I think West Brom could well come out on top.

My Prediction: Either:

West Brom 3-0 Rovers

Or

West Brom 2-2 Rovers

The good news is, I am hardly ever correct with these things!
