England WILL win the World Cup

This year is it, I know it, the year players like Gerrard, Rooney, Crouch, Green & Dawson take their place alongside Moore, Banks, Ball, Greaves and Hurst.

Every time this tournament rolls round, one team has an easy route to the world cup because of shock results, and this year it will be England.

We'll avoid Brazil, Portugal & Germany all the way to the final, and possibly miss the there too and play Spain.

There's a lot being being made about the fact that England having the oldest squad in this years competition, but 4 years ago in France the 2 oldest squads made it to the final, and England could have beaten either of them.

In Capello we have one of the finest coaches in the world that brings to the squad not just technical excellence but a discipline that's sadly lacking from a lot of football squads nowadays.

You can see by the difference in performance between halves recently that someone in that dressing room is motivating those players, even if it's not Capello himself, it's someone he's put there.

He's also a lucky coach, and you need a dash of luck to be a winner, if it's the ref missing an obvious penalty or the ball going in off a strikers backside, and it'll be something like that that gets us through one round.

So come on England ... COME ON!!!!!

Group stage exit...haha. I think England have a much better chance than in recent WCs. However I do think there are better teams in the tourney. Unfortunately for me I don't think Italy is one of them but if England can finally perform against the world's best then they have a chance!

For us to win we need the biggest stroke of luck available. We have Heskey. Others have, Messi,Raonaldo or villa. Quarters will be something and more progress will be amzing.

Don't worry Mikey, England will face Germany in the elimination round. USA! USA! USA!

the only thing England will miss is a win

I look forward to this every 4 years, only to be sorely disappointed. I've got so many good memories watching the world cup in years gone by ... I love it. I wish it wasn't so commercialised, but that's a criticism of the whole game not just the world cup. This is the first one that Matt has been old enough to remember and I can't wait for the first game to kick off this weekend, do you think I have time to teach him the national anthem? I hope you're right No.9 ... COME ON ENGLAND!!!
