Blackburn's Championship season continued with a win at Elland Road against Leeds on Thursday.

A Blackburn start, which would have been beyond the dreams of many, with goal within seconds from Conway and then a second from Rhodes minutes later saw Rovers through to a two-nil win.

It took just 17-seconds for Blackburn to take the lead!

Taylor's cross was misjudged by Leeds captain Bamba, finding its way through to Conway (1) who kept his composure to control and fire past Leeds 'keeper Silvestri. Conway had been left completely free and in space at the far past, to see Rovers lead with the first attack of the game.

Minutes later it was two!

Lawrence, who caused problems throughout the games, ran at the Leeds defence to set up Rhodes (6) to finish low past Silvestri to give Blackburn a two-goal lead in six-minutes to leave them well in control and on course for victory.

Leeds settled and, as you would expect as the home side, eventually got into the game with Antenucci going close but his volley from a Murphy cross, who later clashed with Blackburn captain Hanley with the bloodied Rovers defender forced off, went into the side netting.

The hosts looked to get one back before the break, and thought they would through Cardiff loanee Adeyemi but his header come back off the post and the two-goal lead was taken into the break by Blackburn.

Blackburn were able to see out the second half without any real pressure, another breakaway from Lawrence could have seen Conway add a third but looking to cut inside allowed Cooper to get back and make a block.

Antenucci had the only real Leeds chance in the second half but once again he couldn't beat Steele in the Blackburn goal as his effort was straight at the Rovers 'keeper with three-points collected, which were much needed by both sides!

This first win in four-matches for Blackburn saw Rovers up to 14th and above Leeds, who remain in 18th but without a win under former Rotherham boss Evans in his three-matches in charge and also winless at home win since March!

Now the real test is can Rovers finally (which we constantly do without carrying it forward consistently) get a string of results going, build some forward moving momentum and climb up the Championship table!!
