Time To Skip Sunday Lunch

A choice between sunday lunch with my lovely mum Moira and watching the Rovers??? ooo its tough... sorry Mum.

Rovers face a tough trip to Pompey who are the FA Cup finalists and currently occupy a good spot in the Premier League.

Blackburn will look to keep up the hgh standard of performance from last week's impressive showing against Man United.

Portsmouth Team News:

Nwankwo Kanu is pressing for a recall upfront but on-loan Milan Baros should be given another run alongside cup-tied top scorer Jermain Defoe. Although Kanu always scores against Rovers so expect him to feature at some point.

Lauren may switch to left-back for this game in place of the suspended Hermann Hreidarsson, who received a red card in the defeat against Man City.

Striker David Nugent and midfielder Pedro Mendes are both nursing 'slight knocks' but could be among the substitutes.

But defender Noe Pamarot is not ready to play, despite returning to training after 10 weeks out with a knee injury.

Player to watch: Sol Campbell

If Blackburn are to win they will have to find a way past this man. David James is good but somewhat overrated... Sol Campbell is the real deal.

Everyone knows what he is about and it should be one hell of a battle between him and Jason Roberts.

Blackburn Team News:

Sparky should stick with the same 11 that did so well against Manchester United.

Luckily there are no major concerns ahead of the game so Sparky more or less should have a full compliment to choose from.

Player to watch: Morten Gamst

Has been the Gamst of old recently and will need to be on top form as Pompey are strong in the air and the crosses will have to be pin point.

We need a goal from Morten as well as this is the kind of team he normally thrives against.

Match Prediction:

I am feeling good about this one as I feel Pompey have one eye on the FA Cup final and rovers should be on a high. I'm going to go with a 1-0 Rovers victory.

Next Fixtures:

Derby at home. If ever there was a banker 3 points this is it... but then again, this is Rovers.

I HATE THESE EARLY GAMES.....10.30pm kick of my time, normally id love it but i work Sunday nights!!!!!!!!! darn it, might get a bit of the game, gotta take my lunch break late i guess lol, Mikey you up for the match report. As for the game, well, we must win, not just for Europe, more for positioning, every position we can gain means extra cash, cash that we can use
sasman
Tough game for you. I think you might nick a 2-1 win.
Fan of Blues
This is going to be tough. Think Portsmouth will be looking for a response after last weeks hiding. Hopefully it will be Nugent and Baros up front instead of Defoe and Kanu

David James over rated!!! I'll remind of that after the game. Yes we want the season to finish season now, because it's the cup final that matters for us. Whatever happens in this game it won't make or break our wonderful season.

Let's hope for a exciting game tomorrow, weather forecast bad. The programmes on the front page are from my collection!!

I don't think James is overrated at all!
Fan of Blues
Heard Gamst coming to Liverpool next season... likely?

the cup is the most important thing for us but i still want 5th so i want to win today and think we might just edge it 2-1... james overrated tho? come on fella the guy has been out of this world for the past few years and as i frequently tell people the only one that even comes near to him is your own keeper friedel - the best 2 in the league if you ask me! yep those programmes were scanned by eastneydave and then made into an image to use.

Great result. This new formation looks to suit us. Could be the way forward in away games and games against the big four. Still dont think Bents looks interested.

The European dream is still alive dudes, two more wins and it MIGHT be enough?!?!

I think we deserved the points at the end. The first half wasnt great but we were the better team in the second. And sorry guys it is just my opinion on David James, I knew most peeps would disagree and your entitled to do so. I appreciate that he is a terrific shot stopper and I think some of that comment is born out of the lack of recongition Friedel gets. well done James on being in the PFA team of the year.
MikeyGamst
We played well - I prefer us playing 4-4-2 with bentley on the wing. Defoe was unluck a couple of times but I thought we were the better team overall and should have been given a clear penalty.

clear penalty?
