Ooijer Out Of Dutch Squad

Blackburn Rovers defender Andre Ooijer has withdrawn from the Dutch squad ahead of their friendly with Croatia on Wednesday.

Ooijer did join up with his Dutch team-mates, but the medical staff decided that he was not fit enough and he is now back at Ewood Park. However, the problem isn't thought to be that serious and anything for us to worry about. The veteran defender did play the full 90 minutes against Everton last Saturday, but he does have a slight groin problem, however, his withdrawal is more a precautionary measure.

There SHOULN'T be any problems with the Dutch International being fit to face Arsenal, which would have been a concern, especially with Christopher Samba suspended and Ryan Nelsen currently sidelined.

NO NEED to panic dudes, this ISN'T a major problem, I just think that commonsense has prevailed here and no chances taken, as it is only a friendly.

With God and the wall out at the mo, this would be a loss. how many centre halfs do we need? lol
BomBom
I hope so mate, and reidy is apparently pulling out of irelands game, any news on that one?
sasman
Like he'll be missed Sas!!! lol
BomBom
eh bom he will be, we (ireland) have no decent players in the middle bar dare i say it andy reid (great at intenational level) and our own reidy who was sorely missed throughout the last campaign! but i know you dont rate him but then your forced to support koumas et al eugh!
durks de rover
You're not a fan of Reidy's are you Bom?
Hughes Da Man
Durks your midfield must be really poor if ur best player is Reid! Its not that Im not a fan, its just I really dont see why hes held up to such reverie when hes had half a decent season since signing for us. hes a decent utility player and a decent squad player but one not worthy of starting regularly IMO. Then again, i wasnt a fan of Fat Arrow Atkins and that wasnt a popular opinion to hold either so meh!
BomBom
Fair play bommy as you know you are in the minority on this one. reidy is one of Mikey's favourites and is a driving force behind the team. I think Ooijer should be fine based on what Im hearing and I think Reidy's is a precautionary measure too... time will tellb ut I think both should be fine. I hope so anyway as we're nearly in hedgehog territory!!!!
MikeyGamst
And even Hedgehog is injured though isn't he, but isn't he always, well at least he always looks it lol!
Hughes Da Man
No, hes not injured HDM, it just LOOKS like hes permanently got the flu! hehe. Mikey....Driving force behind the team??? hes lucky these days to drive to work without doing his ligaments again!!!
BomBom
Especially with you shooting him down every chance you get!!! lol
MikeyGamst
sorry bom, ya no how i feel on this one, reidy is going to be one of our most important players, solid in the middle matey
