Hughes Takes The Point

Blackburn Rovers extended their unbeaten run to seven Premier League matches after the 0-0 draw with Everton at Ewood Park on Saturday, a result which pleased Mark Hughes.

We were a touch fortunate, with Everton going close and having a goal controversially ruled out for offside but in the end either side could have won it but avoiding defeat against a European rival was most important, and this draw left Hughes pleased.

Hughes told Radio Rovers: "I thought it was a decent Premier League game.

"It was nip and tuck with two sides striving for the same prize and I think that showed.

"Certainly in the second half I think we were a lot better, in the first half it was a little bit stop-start, there wasn't a great deal of momentum, but in the second half we drove the game and I thought at some point that something would happen for us and that we'd get the goal.

"I think if we'd have scored then I think we would have won the game but it wasn't to be, but it was a decent performance I felt, certainly in the second half.

Avoiding defeat was the most important thing. I do think that we were lucky but what the hell I'll take it!!!

We were very lucky and this was a very good point, especialy wid Villa losing, and was vital West Ham lost yesterday!!! Really in the mix, hopefully will keep up the good form, but so close betweem 4th and 9th
roverjoy
lots of good results for us, u can add man city losing to that list, leeps it tight around us.

7 game unbeaten.. but too many draws.. Looking back and we've won just 4 games since december and I remember 3 of them being terrible displays against bolton, sunderland and derby where we got a little lucky in all 3. I don't see european quality this season form rovers.. still the other teams around us are slipping up a lot too. I just hope we can pull out some really cracking performances again soon a nice 4-0 hammering of someone would do just the job.
Bents4eng
TBH a decent performance and a one nil will do me but i am with you on the performance end of things bents4eng we have been poor lately
durks de rover
to be fair bents4eng, we were bad against Boro and Sunderland but we were the better team against Bolton away and should of beaten Derby bout 8-1. Think we are panicking a bit too much, we drew away at Villa which is no mean feat and thwe draw yesterday took some guts be we did it. Keep the faith guys.

Is that your new tag line Mikey "keep the faith guys" lol.
Hughes Da Man
lol.. I am I'd just like to see a comfortable win.. just once! Whoever we're playing I feel nervous, like we could concede at any point and wonder where the goal is coming from
Bents4eng
Rovers dont do comfy wins, they do nervy edgy games with some late drama and usually a goal or 2!
BomBom
oh yeah, usually followed by a referee cock up of some sorts! Ive not forgot about you, Igor and your Master!!!! ********S!
BomBom
Yes it is the official mikey tag line now... may change it on me profile!!! lol.
