Santa Cruz Top Rovers Forward

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked, "Forward of the Month for January?" We voted in favour of Roque Santa Cruz.

By a HUGE MARGAIN with 75% of the vote (not for the first time, and almost certainly not the last) Santa Cruz was voted the Rovers Forward or the Month for January.

Matt Derbyshire's 16% sees him finish as runner up to Santa Cruz, and as such he also advances to the overall Player of the Month poll, taking place now.

Maceo Rigters (6%), Jason Roberts (3%) & Benni McCarthy (0%) completed the poll.

So in summary
Matt Derbyshire - 16%
Benni McCarthy - 0%
Maceo Rigters - 6%
Jason Roberts - 3%
Roque Santa Cruz - 75%

The positional searches for Januarys Player of the Month are now out of the way, the overall vote to determine the Player of the Month for November will now take place as the current poll is asking, "Player of the Month for January?"

As with the other positional rating it's hard to disagree with the two finalists here.

For consistency, look no further than Emo (shocking isnt it!!!) Bents and Santa. Fair play to him, he's still delivering way past Christmas (I know, I know, I couldn't resist OK!!)
BomBom
He was on fire, can he do it next month?
storagematt
Nice one Bommy... think this was always gonna be one sided. Benni has been poor the last montha dn Roberts had one good game.
MikeyGamst
If only we could swap Andriy Voronin for Santa Cruz!
Aamir
Santa is on fire, lets hope he keeps scoring, benni mac to make his come back tonight lads
sasman
aamir... no chance laddy, you'll have to keep him!!! Santa is Rovers through and through.
MikeyGamst
lets hope so mikey, we need our best players to stay, thats how we build a strong squad
sasman
Bargin buy of the season if you ask me, lets hope he continues to score the goals for you!!
will it ever happen
oo he missed a golden opportunity in the final moments tonight....
sasman
He certainly did sas... but Hughes has had bargain buy of the season 3 years now. Nelsen, McCarthy, Roque.
MikeyGamst
ur forgetting samba, bellers, even warnock, ah he has a whole team of bargains
sasman
Bellers wasn't exaxtly a "bargain" though was he, as he cost what 6 million?!?!
Hughes Da Man
I think it was closer to 5 million but we got good value out of him that is for sure.
MikeyGamst
OKAY what's a million between friends lol, but you get the point he was SUPERB value for money but wasn't a "bargain" per say was he.
Hughes Da Man
well i think i would classify him as a bargain he cost us five million we let him go for six so we payed his wages and he had a great season although i wouldnt quite out him in the samba mcarthy santa cruz or even friedel(not sparkys i know but he was a freebie) bargain bins
durks de rover
Bellamy cost more than Sutton OR Shearer. were they bargains??? point made I feel! hehehe
