Faye Move Could Be Possible?
Blackburn Rovers COULD still be able to make a move for Amdy Faye afterall, after initial thoughts that FIFA regulations could prevent such a move.
Rovers chairman John Williams has confirmed that the Charlton Athletic midfielder (currently on a season long loan with Glasgow Rangers) has arrived at the club for a trial, but still thought that any such move would be unlikely due to FIFA regulations.
Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Amdy is on trial with us for the week with the approval of both Rangers and Charlton.
"But even if the trial proves successful there is still the issue with FIFA."
However, despite the fact that that should he sign for Rovers he would be playing for his third club of the season (something which isn't allowed) a FIFA Spokesman has confirmed that an appeal could be possible that might allow him to sign?
This spokesman told the Daily Record: "In general the rule does apply but if a club or player asks FIFA to look at any case it comes to the FIFA legal department.
"A typical example of this situation involved Carlos Tevez last season."
Meanwhile the chances of signing Valeri Domovchiyski appear to be fading, with a "Rovers source" revealing that Mark Hughes might have decided against such a deal?!?!
Hughes has been VERY keen on signing the 21-year-old Bulgarian striker but it is understood that after giving it more thought Hughes is not so sure about bringing him in on loan after all as he probably couldn't give him much first team football, not guaranteed anyway. It is also understood that the club have concerns over getting a work permit?
This club source told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Mark thought long and hard about it and came to the conclusion that it's not really fair on the lad to bring him over on loan, when he can't guarantee him regular first team football. So, on balance, that's a deal that probably won't happen now."
