Rovers Fear Nelsen Blow?!?!

Blackburn Rovers could be dealt a MAJOR blow with the news that Ryan Nelsen could be sidelined again by his long-standing hamstring problem?!?!

The Rovers skipper is understood to be going to have X-rays on the troublesome hamstring and should the worst fears be materialised then the New Zealander could have to undergo further surgery, and last time this happened he was out of the team for A LONG time, and we KNOW how much he was missed.

Nelsen (or God as we call him here) is the heart of the defence and despite thoughts that he hasn't been at his best this season (however, I do not agree with this) we ALWAYS look weaker when he is not part of the back four, so we can only HOPE that the worst fears are not materialised as if they are our hopes for this season would be severely damaged!!!

Fingers crossed, if we lose God although it doesn't mean we can't achieve that we are aiming for this season it WILL make it a lot, lot harder!!!

I hope to God (see what I did there) that he is okay. He will be a major loss.
roversman
Yeah I saw dude (pretty clever).
This news has not only surprised me but also frightened me. I might have missed something but I had no idea (sometimes the newspapers pick up on old news and re-run it, not on purprose of course, so I'm hoping that may this is the case?!?!)

HDM YOU THIEF lol you could of posted some credit to my forum article about this topic but no!!!!!

Losing Ryan (aka - God) will be very bad. I'm hoping it isn't the case though because he has been playing regularly and finishig all his games. I'm sure Hughes wouldn't have risked him if he had any problems.

Lets be brutally honest lads, its not the blow that it may have been last season as Nelsen has been off form over the xmas period and since and maybe the rest will do him good and give the monk a run in the side.
BomBom
I agree with BomBom, I think he has been off form of late, well compared to how he has been, I think he may have been struggling with this longer than he's letting on. I dont think that with Zurab and Ooijer able to come in that we will be abismal at the back, I agree we look better with a fit Nelsen but if he's not 100% then he's liability, Get him out, Get him fit! We will be better off in the long term
Clint
bad news but not terrible news not considering the amount of silly errors he is making lately and people can tell me how he played well for the rest of the ninety all they want his mistakes have cost us this season in saying that i would like to echo clints statements about gettin him fit as he is sheer class at 100%
durks de rover
have to say im glad about this, he's (Nelsen) been awful lately like the rest of the defence, it needs a reshuffle and nelsen is clearly not fit and hasnt been for a while so this break could do him well, Oojer has done well on the right so we'll have to put him in the centre and bring back in Emerton on the right who is havin a decent season at the moment.
Savory
Zurab looks assured at centre half when he plays there. Ooijer, of course, is a more than ample replacement. If Nelson is out for a considerable time, it will obviously be a blow, but I do not think it will be lethal...
Decimus Poole
I think some of the guys arent giving Nelsen the credit he deserves. We are a better team when he is in there and that is the sign of a leader and an inspiration.
MikeyGamst
I'm with you Mikey, how quickly some people forget!!! Wait and see, IF he is out we'll see this difference.
Hughes Da Man
doubt we'll miss him, ooijer and samba are more than suitable replacements, warnock on left and emerton at right V villa and we're laughin.
Savory
But he is a legend here in new zealand and to see him sidelined again would be tragic for both you and his kiwi fan base
ozanne park rangers
We'll miss him a lot ozanne believe me. I think Zurab may get the nod in the centre against Villa.
