Faye To Undergo Rovers Trial?!?!

Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Charlton Athletic midfielder Amdy Faye, according to his agent.

Former Newcastle United midfielder Faye, who is currently on a season long loan deal with Glasgow Rangers from Charlton has been unable to command a regular place at Ibrox, so with Robbie Savage having left Ewood Park for Derby County it is understood that the Senegalese International is viewed as a possible replacement for Savage? His agent Willie McKay claims that Rovers are interested in getting him in on trial before deciding what to do, but he also claims that Rangers manager Walter Smith is reluctant to let him leave?

McKay told Skysports.com: "Blackburn are interested in Amdy and they are hoping he can join up with them for a few days training.

"At the minute, Walter Smith wants to keep him as he does not want to lose any players, but Amdy is keen to go.

"He has not had a chance at Rangers really as their midfield has been playing well and he wants to be playing on a regular basis.

"We will see what happens before the close of the transfer window
."

However, FIFA rules look as though they could scupper any such deal, as he would be playing for his third club of the season, something that isn't allowed.

Rovers chairman John Williams told the Daily Record: "Faye has already played for Charlton and Rangers so the information I have is that it could not go anywhere at the moment.

"I don't think the change in the Fifa rule is relevant here. It is actually confusing because when you read it at first, the article mentions three clubs.

"But when you re-read the document, it states two.

"It is my understanding that this idea with Faye is going to be caught by the rules. That is where I am standing at the moment
."

Is Amdy Faye the man that we need?!?! Personally I would say no, but if Sparky wants him and can get him as we say in Sparky we trust.
UNLESS the rules are changed we couldn't get him anyway!!!

Yer maybe good for a loan if we don't get anyone in this transfer window to fill the centre of the park. Could be quite good wouldn't mind him on loan, dnt have to play him then really nothing to lose. But as u say doesn't look likely it will happen because of F.A rules but they always seem to overturn them.

I think this once again demonstrates our lack of funds. We could be getting Faye whereas Pompy buy Diarra! No comparison.

This is one where I hope FIFA do us a favour and DONT change their minds about the rules, Faye is not the man we need im almost sure of it, otherwise he'd be playing for Rangers or indeed Charlton. Both teams no offense are not quite Premiership class ( and I am a Rangers fan too ) and he cant play for them, so wot makes him good enough for Rovers?? I cant see it myself??
Clint
if he can not make a scottish team then how could he make the line up of a premiership side the scottish teams are not that great but the rangers and celtic are so if he's not good enough for them ...
ozanne park rangers

Yea hopefullly we cannont get an exeption to the rule, surely there are more talented, younger footballers around

Its funny how they mention how a player can not play for 3 clubs yet last year, Jon Stead played for Sunderland, Derby and Sheff Utd... on the topic of Faye at times he has looked commanding and at times he has looked pretty laboured. Time will tell but I aint that fussed on him to be honest.

I think this move underlines that there is little talent available without spending huge sums of money.

sasman
I'm with you Mikey, I'm not that bothered about signing him.
