Rigters To Leave Ewood Park?!?!

Blackburn Rovers striker Maceo Rigters looks as though his possible move away from Ewood Park this month will be taking place after all.

Rigters was only signed last summer but has found it increasingly difficult to get a place in the Rovers match day squads of sixteen let alone the starting XI, so with a loan move already mooted previously (despite Rovers denying this) it is looking very much so that he will leave Rovers by the end of the month.

However, Rovers would ONLY sell him permanently if they received a BIG MONEY offer, and seem more prepared to loan out the Dutch International, with several Championship Clubs and some in his homeland believed to be interested.

I ALWAYS thought he was signed as a player for the future but thought he would get a bit more of a go. It makes sense to loan him out for the remainder of the season and bring him back next season.

So tough at the moment, strikers wise. So much quality it's impossible to keep them all happy!

Also I think our lack of success in all cup competitions hasn't helped with regards to opportunities to rotate the squad.
martinr
martinr i was just thinkin bout that earlier. last year we went far in the cup and also had the luxury of playing a few fringe players in the group stages of the uefa cup but this hasnt happened this season limiting our opportunities! i do think that we need to start blooding some of the younger members of the squad and get them used to the demands of the premierleague
durks de rover
i dont think we can really afford to blood anyone in the league at the moment. With the table so tight at the top, we need our best teams playing, week in week out. Maybe Cameo roles of the bench but thats about it
sasman
Really though he's gonna be a star for us....

I also feel bad for Matty D, he's looked like a future England starter when he's come on, but this season he's barely had a shout. I just really hope he doesn't start getting disillusioned too.. maybe we should have let McCarthey go when he started getting too big for his boots in the summer after all
Bents4eng
never mind you win some you lose some as long as the majority of your squad are happy then one or two leaving is never a bad thing

Yeah I'm disappointed for Derbs too. I would like to see him given more opportunities in the coming weeks, just to mix things up a little.

I have a feeling that Beni just mite leave, I dont think the club would suffer to much judging this seasons display!! Rigters looks ok on wot I've seen but not enough to be sure he's wot we need, hopefully he'll go on loan, if he playes well then grand if not we can sell on
Clint
Yer annoying that we went out in the cups so they can't get the games!!! Rigters should be allowed to leave but only on loan!!!
roverjoy
Derbyshire should def have played more this season but he is Blackburn through and through. Loaning out rigters is by far and away the bets option for us at the mo as there isnt enough chance to get him on the pitch.

Loan out rigters, he wants games, we need him in the future. As for Benni Mac, as much as i rate the guy, he aint doing much this year, if we can cash in on him, maybe 6 mill pounds, at least we could spend some cash
sasman
Not a bad call that sas but I am gonna stick by Benni till the end of the season. I have faith he will come good.
MikeyGamst
Yep - I agree sasman, he's part of the future
FreidelNo.1
Benni will pass quality on to the younger players in training as well, so for that reason he shouldn't be sold either. I feel that he WILL go in the summer though. I to am sad that Derbs hasn't really been given the chance to kick on this season.
Hughes Da Man
Im with you HDM... Derbyshire should be given more chances as when he has played he adds somet different.
