Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts came off the bench to score the winning goal against Bolton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon, and all he wants to do is play football.
Roberts looked as if he might have played his last match for Rovers, but he came off the bench to score the winning goal in our 2-1 win over Bolton on Sunday. It is still more than possible that he could still leave this month but he hopes that his goal will at least put pressure on manager mark Hughes to give him a few matches, as all he wants to do is play.
Roberts told Sky Sports: "It's obviously been disappointing not to play many games - but I think today I showed a little bit what I can do.
"It's been frustrating with injuries since I came to this club. But I think I'm ready to play; I've been ready for a while now and I want to put pressure on the manager and show people what I can do.
"It's not really in my hands at the moment. I just want to play football."
Hughes appreciates his frustration, and praised him but it does appear that he sees him more as a player to use from the bench, something that will not please Roberts as this is not something that he wants.
Hughes said: "Obviously Jason has been frustrated with the lack of opportunities and I think that is obviously the situation that we are in but there is no doubting his ability, his ability to make impact coming off the bench as he did.
"He is a very powerful guy, once he gets on the half-turn then it is very difficult to draw him back because he has got power, he has got pace and it was a great finish."

I can't see the situation changing enough for him to stay, but you never know. If he stays for the remainder of the season I would expect him to leave in the summer.
