Rovers Target Jason Koumas

Rovers Target Jason Koumas

The Lancashire Telegraph believes that Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has targeted Jason Koumas as the man to fill the void left by Robbie Savage's departure.

Koumas had been a target for Hughes last summer but the fee rose to a valuation WELL above what Rovers were prepared to pay, (and rightly so, it WAS to much) and he signed for Wigan Athletic for a fee of around £5 million from West Bromwich Albion. He started well, but has since found a first team place hard to command and since his signing Wigan have also changed managers and it is understood that Steve Bruce could be willing to part with the Welsh International.

Sparky knows Koumas very well from his time as the Welsh manager, and it was he that handed the 28-year-old his International debut and he has always been an admirer of his, so with Savage now gone and Aaron Mokoena taking part in the African Cup of Nations with South African Sparky could move for him again with a £3 million offer being mooted, however, this would be significantly lower than the price that Wigan paid just six-months ago so this probably wouldn't be sufficient?!?!

I was keen on us signing Koumas when we wanted him last summer, but wasn't keen on us signing him for the amount that West Bromwich Albion wanted so I was glad we didn't.
If we could get him for £3 million that would be a good signing I feel, I just can't see Wigan letting him go for that amount?

Dude what are you on about. Savage was a squad member, he had no problems getting in the team. As a matter of fact, id say there is only 1 person guaranteed a start in our midfield, and thats David Bentley. As for Koumas, this link never dies down does it, i guess i have faith in Sparky, but i just havent seen enough of Koumas

Yer would be good for £3mill would prefer to have Sidwell but that isn't going to happen, top man and the welsh connection will make Koumas play better!! I think this would be good and a better signing than Savage.

Not sure if we would get him for that price... Bruce likes to get as much as he can for his players... remember the Savage deal?

Not sure about Koumas. He did look pretty good earlier in the campaign but I'm not sure, never have to be honest.

I think id have him, Sparky would get the best out of him. But id prefer Sidwell if that is at all possible
