Hughes Anger Stuns Rovers Players

Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes has scrapped planned days off for his players this week after their FA Cup humiliation against Coventry City.

The Lancashire Evening Telegraph says Blackburn boss Mark Hughes was seething after what he described as an unacceptable second half performance, Hughes tore strips off his team during a ferocious post-match dressing down.

And the Rovers boss even withdrew plans to give the players a few days off this week, claiming his players did not deserve them, ordering them in for extra training instead.

One senior player said: 'That's the angriest I've ever seen the manager.

'He slaughtered us, and had every right to do after a performance like that.'

I can see Hughes line of thinking here and I am glad he had a good shout at everyone because I am sure I am not the only one who doesnt wanna see that performance ever again.

They need to realise they have been poor of late. I just hope they respond in a positive manner with some sterling displays.

Yer hopefully Bolton won't do one over us that would be bad, need a performance on sunday come on lads!!
roverjoy
Keep the faith guys, I have got every confidence in the lads to drag us out. Lets bulk up in midfield and get Dunny back in there.
MikeyGamst
Here here Mikey...that's the fighting spirit that we need to imbue to hopefully rub off on the lads!!!
roversman
Sparky is right to be angry but at the same time he must share some of the blame if we are honest. He selected the side and made the changes throughout it, so as POOR as the players were its not all entirely down to them.
Hughes Da Man
Fair point that HDM... cant blame it all on the players.
MikeyGamst
I hope he let it rip, told em all off, they deserved it

"Hughes Anger Stuns Rovers Players" how can his anger stun the players just shows how comatose they have been lately time to wake up lads and play like we know we can!
durks de rover
Its about time that we heard Hughes reading the riot act to the team, they had maybe fallen into a comfort zone with the good things being said about them as a team and random players as well. The defense in particular has looked shocking in recent weeks! Hughes will take some of the blame as its his job to motivate the players but he can only do so much and as its the players on the pitch getting paid an absolutly astonishing amount of money its really up to them to put in the performances, granted Hughes buys or has kept these players!
