Cisse Attracting Premier Interest?

Cisse Attracting Premier Interest?

French International Djibril Cisse is being linked with a return to the Premier League, with Blackburn Rovers understood to be one of several English clubs interested.

The Marseille striker (who famously broke his leg at Ewood Park a few years back, so the ground must hold bad memories for him?!?!) has had a disappointing season with the Ligue 1 side this season, and has slipped out of the International reckoning (and with the European Championships coming up this summer he needs to play regularly to have any chance of getting back in), and Marseille are believed to be willing to let the former Liverpool striker leave, or are at least ready to listen to offers for him.

Rovers manager Mark Hughes is understood to be preparing a £7.5 million offer, but we have apparently denied an interest. However, Manchester City is believed as being his preferred destination. Bolton Wanderers and West Ham United are also reportedly showing an interest.

I think that he is a better striker than most people think but is there really the need for him here? Besides, that is withstanding the thought where will this £7.5 million come from?!?!

No thanks, costs too much, injury prone and i just simply have never rated him, showed plenty of potential, never lived up to it

I would love to see Cisse at Rovers, the guy is top notch in my opinion. He'll never leave Marseille for Blackburn though. Can't really blame him!

He has a lot of potential and a lot of pace - problem is that he rarely uses it and goes missing for too much of a game. Not a good signing for Rovers - I think we should go for Nugent.

Is what we need some one with a lot of pace, but will he be lazy, cause unrest get injured? Bit of a risk i think especially for £7.5!!

Yeah the price tag is laughable which makes the rumour lack credability but I have always rated him. He does get a lot of injuries though!

Yeah, that is what I said Mikey, this money wont magically appear from thin air.
Personally I don't think that £7.5 million is too much, in today's climate that isn't really a lot for a proven (which the dude is) International quality striker, but he WON'T come to Ewood Park even if we could afford him.

I would hate to see that kind of money spent on the likes of THAT!! He may have ability but its never going to be seen with his attitude getting in the way - That money would be better used getting the likes of Defoe, a proven goal scorer in the Premier League and a bloody waste at Spurs

Championship Cost Per Goal So Far In 2016/17

The end of the Championship campaign of 2016/17 is only a month and a bit away from fans across the country but as we go in to the remaining weeks of the campaign...

Positive Signs For Bennett

Bennett was positive of Blackburn being able to see off Lancashire rivals Preston heading into this game at Ewood Park after the Norwich and Fulham results.

Minor Graham Setback

Blackburn had to do without Danny Graham against Preston following the groin problem that forced him off against Fulham last week. He could return against Brighton next week.

Hugely Frustrating

Mowbray admitted Blackburn didn't start the game well against Preston but had then been the dominant side so was 'majorly disappointed' not to record a victory.
