Santa Cruz Loving His Rovers Move

Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz has said that his move to Ewood Park was the best thing that could have happened to his career.

After spending many years with German giants Bayern Munich he finally decided that it was time to move on last summer (admitting that he had stayed with the club for to long) and eventually chose Ewood Park as his new home, and this is something that he already regards England as, his home as he has settled in remarkably well. He could have gone elsewhere, but has NO regrets about joining us.

Santa Cruz told the Daily Mirror: "I had a chance to go to other places, but I had a good feeling talking with the manager and his ideas for the team.

"It was a very important choice for me and I am happy to come here.

"At Bayern the manager told me he wanted me to stay but for the bench, and because of my injuries I knew I had to keep playing so I could get back to my best.

"When I talked to the manager here, he said I'd have a chance and after a few months in England this feels like home.

"This is the best thing that could have happened to me as I stayed too long at Bayern
."

He has been a SUPERB signing for us, fourteen goals already including eight in his last five appearances is an incredible return and he will be looking to add to this further on Wednesday evening when we face Sunderland.

Easily our signing of the season and if he maintains his current form he could quite easily become our Player of the Season. He seems to be getting better and better all the time.
Hughes Da Man
That's true, in recent weeks he looks devilishly dangerous in front of goal. I hope he can maintain this form throughout the season. It's also encouraging how happy he is. Benni, Bents and Roque have now all said just how happy they are at Rovers. Great news.
roversman
Doing well for my fantasy team alongside Fernando Torres!
Aamir
Hope he does keep getting better, scoring goals, and setting a few up for benni mac and derbs
sasman
And he has also done my Fantasy team a world of good...

I was waiting for Roque to explode with the goals, he was unlucky at Bayern but im glad cos now we have him and he's showing his potential, the good thing about him is he spent ages at Bayern without complaining, this good be a good sign for Rovers in keeping him
Clint
I'm very happy with Roque's form at Rovers.. And I hope he gets even better..because he's still got something else to show! And as a the Gentlemen he is he won't leave the team that has allowed him to Re-Born. GO RO(QUE)VERS!

Now I'm sure we signed the wrong one in Claudio Pizarro!

what a bargain this guy is.before it was benni for cheap price now santa cruz. hughes signs quality and we are stuck with that donkey pizzaro. i will give him few more chances before i start to slate him.
kaybee
Sasman - I wasnt able to access this in work for a while lol and when i got home I kinda forget, but always about! Sure my fantasy dream team on here is flying lol Had to get that one in sorry lads ;0) I do agree with Kaybee as well in saying that we def got the better deal outta the 2 former Byaern strikers, fair enough we had to pay forRoque but sure u would, Pizarro was a surprise choice for Chelsea, wel I thought, Santa Cruz always had the better reputation
Clint
Yeah, Chelsea certainly went for the wrong striker didn't they!!!
The latest Fantasy Football update will be added soon, sorry for not doing these over Christmas, with so much going on (work, family visits and of course drinking) I didn't get a chance to sort this out.
Hughes Da Man
Cheers mate, good to c your still kicking, we always miss a founding member when they dissapear, we miss everyone actually, except mikey and bombom...
sasman
Well Thank You very much mate, i'll try to be back into the old me on here. And founder member seems a bit grand for little old me lol but I think Hughes Da mentioned something about that last year at some stage, im chuffed as to have been here from the start and hopefully contributed along the way lads, now be nice there as its new yr lol
Clint
I had my doubts due to his injuries... but how wrong I was. Everytime he doesnt play we look worse off and that is a sign of a key player.
