Eriksson Wanted Santa At Man City

Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson has admitted that he wanted Roque Santa Cruz, but was beaten to his signature by Mark Hughes.

Rovers signed the Paraguayan International last summer for a bargain price from Bayern Munich, but the former England coach has admitted that he was interested in the striker (which seems to be the real area his side are lacking, a real goalscoring striker) but missed out to Rovers as his interest came too late.

Eriksson said: "Santa Cruz was on my radar but I was just a bit too late.

"I saw him many times for Bayern Munich - and for Paraguay. It is no surprise to me how well he has done in The Premier League because he is a very good player.

"He did well against Chelsea and when you look at the game overall, Blackburn were very unlucky to lose, so we know how tough it is going to be for us
."

I'm glad for our sakes that Eriksson made his move too late!!!

Santa Cruz has been a superb signing and one that I am MORE than happy that we got. Unlucky Sven, but I'm more than glad he will be lining up for, rather than against us tonight!

I just hope he adds to Eriksson's woes at Eastlands.

What i signing by Hughes. Quality striker and now starting to show what he can do best and that's scoring goals. Would Sven have said anything if he hadn't started scoring?
will it ever happen
Probably not! The dude is a goalscoring machine, WHAT a signing.
Hughes Da Man
2 more for him the other night and Sven must be kicking himself!!!
