The Bentley To Leave Rumours Start

With the re-opening of the transfer window almost upon us the transfer rumours are growing, now Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley is being subjected to such rumours.

One Sunday tabloid was today suggesting that Spanish La Liga clubs Valencia and Atletico Madrid are lining up bids for the England International after his impressive form in recent years. The figure being quoted is £10 million, not exactly a bad amount but still not enough surely by today's standards for a player of Bentley's quality????

He wont be going anywhere though will he, if players like Bents are going to start being sold off (and he DOESN'T want to leave does he) that will be the beginning of the end as others would follow and all of Mark Hughes' good work will have been undone!

Just tabloid speculation isn't it, no doubt that others are looking at him but he WON'T be going anywhere will he for a while yet.

roversman - Dude do you really think that he could leave in the Summer?!?! IF Rovers aren't playing in Europe again next season I think that maybe he (and others) might and fear this team might start to dispand!?!

HDM - thats always the worry isn't it. We need success to keep the players. However, I think Hughes will always get us into Europe, either by the league, cup or intertoto - then it's up to the players to show how far they want to go. I think players would be more concerned about that if they left would they get into the first team regularly - Bentley suffered at Arsenal and made a positive move, he has got into the England team and seems to be enjoying his football - the next move for him would be a top 4 club, couldn't see him going elsewhere, and would he be a regular starter?

will you be able to hold on to him?
