Roberts WON'T Be Going Anywhere?!?!

Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has said that Rovers DO NOT WANT TO and WILL NOT be selling Jason Roberts, despite his apparent desire to leave.

Roberts is reported as being unhappy at Ewood Park and could be looking for a route away from the club when the transfer window re-opens next month, but Williams has said that he is not for sale and the club are not looking to sell despite interest from Derby County, Fulham and Sunderland.

Williams told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I'm not aware of any interest and, in my opinion, we would want to keep him at the club."

Since this Rovers manager Mark Hughes has admitted that he has rejected a transfer request from JR and he hopes this will be backed by the board and he WILL stay until the summer if he does want to leave?

Hughes told the Sun: "Jason has handed in a transfer request.

"But I've told the board that I'm not looking to let anyone go in January because that would only weaken us as a squad.

"Jason is frustrated at his lack of opportunities, but I don't want him to go and the board has always backed me in these situations in the past
."

Rovers don't want him to leave but it seems he might want to?
As much as I don't want him to leave (I can understand why he might want to though) as I think he gives us something different, but at the same time do we really want unhappy players (if he is?!?!) with the club?

He is a professional - he is doing a job, and when he does play he gives his best. His form shows that he is trying and he deserves a start. If he was really unhappy he'd down tools and stop completely. I think Roberts will carry on taking his chances and hopefully will be rewarded soon. I don't want him to go, we need him in our squad

Im a bit disappointed by Roberts ( if this is all true ), after all how does he expect to start after all the injuries he has had and that the club have stood by him with!! Its not as if he has really proven himself a worthy starter at Rovers, although we now he is very capable of it. We have 3 very good strikers ahead of him, I just feel a little let down, if folk know wot i mean by that

Clint I understand what ur saying, it does surprise me that players react this way when a club has rehabilitated a player then they want to leave... (Roberts will get his chance, and he must understand that Hughes would be foolish just to let people straight back into the team)
