Newcastle Battle Rovers For Davids

Blackburn Rovers have recently taken Djurgardens' Lance Davids on trial, but the midfielder is now spending a trial period with Premier League rivals Newcastle United.

The 22-year-old South African is keeping his options open as he looks to move to England from Sweden so he is now spending time with Newcastle and it was suggested that he could have (not that I know if he did?!?!) played in a behind closed doors friendly for Newcastle on Thursday Evening. Davids admits that he wants to move to England to play for a bigger club, and also said that Rovers manager Mark Hughes does want another look at him.

Davids is quoted as saying: "Things went very well at Blackburn and Mark Hughes has already asked me to return for a few days.

"I will now be at Newcastle for a few days and hopefully I can make a good impression there as well.

"I feel that, at this stage of my career, I would like to move to a bigger club and Djurgardens know this. I have their full backing, although they would like to keep me for at least another season
."

Much like the other trialist Rovers have recently had (and will again) I do not know a lot about Davids, but midfield is an area that does need looking at so if Sparky can have another look at Davids he could be worth it?
Hughes Da Man
Yes, however most people, as you say HDM want some midfielders, but it seems as though Hughes is buying for the future not for this season... do we need some experienced players to get us up the league?

These younger players are fine but I agree with FriedalNo1 I think a couple of more experienced players in the midfield would be great. Someone to steady the boat, cos we do seem to have a few more injuries in the middle of the park, than anywhere else in the team
Clint
saying that tho Clint, are there any affordable experienced players out there?
