Roberts Links With Move Wont Go Away

Talk linking Blackburn Rovers striker Jason Roberts with a move away from Ewood Park just WILL NOT go away will they!!!

It could just be that the transfer window is getting closer and the tabloids have nothing better to write, or maybe they might be right but the suggestion is that Roberts is "unsettled" at Ewood Park so could be looking to move away (even though he has denied this!!!) with Sunderland the latest club to have entered the bidding. There are NO quotes, but the suggestion is Roy Keane is preparing a £3 million bid to rival that of Roberts' former Wigan Athletic manager Paul Jewell, now at Derby County who is also understood to be interested.

I CAN'T say enough how much I think JR is needed here, so selling him would be a VERY bad thing.

I don't think that he will go anywhere, at least I hope not!!! £3 million might sound like good money, but he is a players that offers us something different and WOULDN'T be easy to replace.

I agree, we cant get much better than him with the money we have got and the attraction of the club, keep hold of him!

i dont see why anyone would go to sunderland tbh.. I guess maybe you get a guaranteed move away when they go down next year :D

I don't think that it is so certain they will go down, but moves to Derby, Fulham or Sunderland would all be backwards moves, other than the fact he would get first team football almost week in week out.
DON'T want him to leave though, hope he wont!
Hughes Da Man
I understand his frustrations if he wants first team football. He is a decent lad and has some ability but his finishing is poor for this level!

Just voted for Derbs and Maceo as second choice in who should start next to Benni. I just think the time is now to freshen things up and give Maceo a go. I also want to see Matty given some starts now!

Well im a big Roberts fan I think he offers the club a lot but with his injury history £3m is looking like VERY good business at the min. I agree that he would be hard to replace but im in the thinking I would rather he leave than Derbyshire for instance! I think Hufges may let Roberts leave if he feels that Rigters could be the man to replace him, I have watched the lad and he seems to have the same qualities, just needs a bit of polishing up
Clint
Yer hope he gets a run in the time and starts for us against Wigan this saturday dropping Santa. HAs been impressive of late, but £3mill is a good price, for him getting on and seems to be injured a lot!!!

I don't want him to go, but it seems he wants to so you dudes are probably right, maybe we should cash in and get the £3 million for an (apparently) unhappy player.
Hughes Da Man
Oh if he's unhappy after the club standing by him through a bad injury period for him, which some footballers seem to forget at times, especailly as he would be on full pay as well, maybe they should stop their pay after a certain number of weeks, mite get them back a bit quicker and stop them whinging!! If we can steal £3m for him then get rid
Clint
I think we need to keep him if we want to get into europe.. its a long season ahead. Nice idea about stoping their pay I'm sure they'd love to be treated like everyone else in the country!
