Hughes Not Happy With Performance

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes was not happy with the performance his players gave during the defeat to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

Rovers were poor, they never really got going and couldn't get any momentum going and went down to the defeat at Ewood Park after substitute Dean Ashton scored the winning goal. Hughes WASN'T amused, but he was also quick to say that he wants to move on from this quickly, as Rovers HAVE to!

Hughes told Sky Sports 1: "We never got anywhere near the levels we know we are capable of. Certainly in the first half our passing was extremely poor.

"We never really got any tempo or momentum to our play, and West Ham were quite comfortable.

"In the second half obviously we are disappointed with the goal that we conceded because it put us right on the back foot.

"After that point we tried to ask questions of them. We created some great chances, but it wasn't our day. It is one of those that you have to draw a line under

VERY disappointing, for whatever reason things just NEVER got going, but QUICKLY moving on from this, and recovering is desperately needed.
This has to be put out of the mind quickly and a reaction similar to that which was given against Newcastle after the Aston Villa defeat is needed.

sorry to say chaps but i switched off at half time - it was awful entertainment!

You should have kept watching, merlin, the second half was a much better game - honest! I think Hughes is right to be moaning at his players, they let him down today in a game you really could have, and in places should have, won

merlin - Dude I don't get to see games due to work commitments, but with the timing of his game I was able to (albeit on TV), but even I was tempted to turn off at half time!!! The second half was better, but not much.
I think it might be time for Sparky to shake things up a bit, some people might have slipped into the comfort zone as far as there place in the team goes?!!?

Worst Rovers performance I've seen all season. Despite loosing 4-0 to Villa at least we gave a good account of ourselves. There was no positives to be taken from Sunday's game. They We were rubbish!

It was a poor performance, Gamst had a bad game, reliable Warnock looked shaky, Santa and benni didn't have many chances, Roberts and his good form failed to show as he was brought on too late and out of position, Ooijer was good - but then went off injured!

poor performance all over. we had trouble keeping hold of the ball all game and had no width to our play with gamst and dunny coming inside. a game to forget and move on to wigan.

Awful, lets hope we can turn it around at Wigan, and that Sparky picks a better team.
