Hughes & Benni Talk To Clear The Air

Having being substituted against Newcastle United in Saturday's 3-1 win Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy stormed away from Ewood Park.

McCarthy's actions disappointed manager Mark Hughes when he returned to the dressing room not to find him there, and it is believed that the two will (or probably already have) hold "clear the air talk", however, personally I do not think there is ANYTHING to worry about, and this WILL NOT mean he is leaving in January despite what the newspapers might tell us.

A Rovers source (that famous source!) told the Lancashire Telegraph: "Mark is aware of the fact Benni wasn't in the dressing room after the game and he will be meeting with him today to see if there are any issues he wants to raise.

"But he will be surprised if there are
."

Hughes knows what McCarthy is like, we all do, and he is a volatile character at the best of times and these kinds of reactions (although not acceptable) are common place with him, so although Sparky will not stand for this a word between the pair should be all it takes, and WILL take.

Personally I don't think there is ANYTHING for anyone to worry about regarding this situation, and it is a mountain being made out of a molehill.
WHO are these “inside sources” that newspapers often speak about?!!?

he was dissapointed at being substituted (which is a good thing) and maybe being left out of the south african squad caused frustration. i don't think theres going to be any problem. its just something to write about.

I agree, no problem there. I think the source is you know who HDM, our good friend at Ewood!

I thought that Roberts was playing out of his skin to impress other clubs for the transfer window. Maybe he's playing out of his skin to impress his own club for a starting position, when McCarthy goes in January...? Only a thought...I'm sure it'll be boo boo'ed... :-)

roversman - That "good friend", I get what you mean dude lol!

Roberts has stated that he doesn't want to go and will fight for his place... good for him, one striker who's not sulking!

Yer definitly Roberts has been impressive of late like to see him start against the Hammers, with Benni, and Bring Santa on later or something along those lines. Wonder who is going right midfield prb Emerton then Kishnishvilli at R.B and Oojer and Samba at centre.

It will be interesting to see, MGP will probably return, so it could be him?!?!

I'd like to see Gamst playing, hopefully he'll twist up Neill and score!
