Suspension Won't Get Bentley Down

Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley might have scored two superb goals on Saturday but there was a downside to that win over Newcastle, Bentley picked up his fifth booking of the season.

This fifth booking picked up in the 3-1 win means he will now serve an automatic one match suspension, but despite this, which now means he will miss the Premier League clash with West Ham United Bents accepts that he will pick up bookings (even unwarranted ones) along the way so has accepted this and is not too downhearted with his suspension.

Bentley told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website "You have to expect that when you go out there, some of the bookings I've received have probably not been bookings.

"But it is part and parcel of the game, you know before you go out there, I'm fine with that
."

Bents will be a MAJOR absentee against West Ham (especially as the Hammered have become a nemesis of Rovers!) but this enforced absence will give someone else a chance (which isn't entirely a bad thing) even though we would all prefer Bents to have been playing I'm sure!

He'll be missed against the hammered, but at least its only one game, and we can get through this without him I'm sure.

Time to pontificate the formation/players Sparky will use! Dunn, Savage/Reid, Mokena, Emerton?
Decimus Poole
Yeah chance for a re-shuffle but yiou can't help but feel a tad annoyed with Bents for a couple of those yellows for diving! He has to stop that behaviour!

The diving yellows SHOULD be punished with reds, then he'll stop doing it. I HATE seeing him dive around, as he's better than that.

It did come at a bad time for Bents, when he was on a run of goals but as its only one game then sure it'll do him good to have a rest, cos he's going to play a hell of a lot of games for us this season
Clint
I feel Sparky is just playing down Bentley's non-involvement by saying he needed a rest anyway. He will be a huge loss for the West Ham game especially after the performance he put in against Newcastle last weekend.
spinaker7081
He will indeed mate but these things happen, means Pederson can start on the left and Dunn will move out to the rite, so every cloud and all that
Clint
Exactly dude, this is why Rovers have a swuad of players isn't it, to cope with such events.
Hughes Da Man
i guess you could have done with him today!
