No Ulterior Motive To Sav's Absence

After Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes hadn't played Robbie Savage at all in the last three matches (despite him returning to fitness) some newspapers felt there is an ulterior motive behind this. Hughes insists there isn't.

After returning ahead of schedule Savage has been restricted to a bench role against Fulham, Aston Villa and Newcastle United but this is merely due to the fact that Sparky is protecting him from any unnecessary risks, with him obviously feeling the time wasn't right (or he wasn't needed) in any of the matches (not to mention he didn't think it fair on others if he came straight back in?) so there are NO doubts about his Rovers future whatsoever.

Hughes told The Sun: "Robbie hasn't had a great deal of football because he's come back very, very quickly,"

"I'll make changes and use the squad if I can.

"His game is based on high energy and at some point maybe that will tail off.

"But I see no signs of that. Sav is a key part of the squad but must understand to get in the side now is tough
."

Personally I think that it is good that Sav hasn't walked straight back into the team, as this DOES put out the wrong signals anyway if someone does this. Sav WILL be back in sooner or later, but there is no ulterior motive to him not playing apart from what Sparky says.

He just didn't get straight back into the team simple as, WHY can't the newspapers JUST accept this without thinking there is anything more?!?!
Sparky has NO intention of selling Sav!!!

Give him time, darn Newspapers, they dont have much else to write about aye

i'm sure he'll be back in the side soon. mokoena is still not filling me with confidence. just wish pedersen would get on form. hows peters doing? not heard much about him or the reserves now i'm in canada.

The papers focus on Sav because they think he is our biggest player. He's perhaps the most notorious but certainly not the biggest!

Sergio wants to leave apparently, just found out :( I feel sorry for the dude, but its been coming (if true?!?!)

Peters will have had his chance and wot with Treacy being touted as the next big thing coming outta the reserves then maybe we should cash in on him, dont want to as its important to keep producing these talented young players but if he's not getting the games then u dont blame the lad. I personally would get rid of Pederson, that wont be well liked in here i know, but I think for the money we could get and the players we have coming through he wouldnt be that missed - he is the most inconsistant player in the league!

and to get back to the actual article lol Savage doent need to be rushed back when we can win games with Tugay and Mokoena in the middle and wot with Reid hopefully coming back Rovers will have a great choice of players soon
Clint
The newspapers always stir it up - after nothing for ges there are now rumours about Roberts, McCarthy, Savage and Peter all at the same time!

Cashing in on Pedersen might'nt be a bad idea Clint. As you say he is very inconsistant, and we could get £8m - £10m for him.

I wouldnt really really like him to leave as for the fact that on his day he is brilliant, but he hasnt really had many of them in the last couple of seasons!! As u say we mite get get about £10m for him still, maybe more if the Hammered enter the race as they will undoubtably do!! I would like to see him move abroad if he went though lol
Clint
The thing is though do we REALLY need to cash in on him, if we are/were going to do that wouldn't we have done so when his value was higher?!?! It has gone down now as he hasn't been playing well. we don't NEED nor will we WANT to cash in on MGP in my opinion.

Its not a matter of hughes being a fool, savage is a fool
