Rovers Draw Coventry In The FA Cup

Blackburn Rovers have been drawn at Ewood Park against Coventry City in the Third Round of this seasons FA Cup.

Championship side Coventry will be looking to cause an upset when they came to Ewood early un 2008, but with Rovers manager Mark Hughes likely to take the FA Cup VERY seriously (as always) he is almost certain to name a FULL STRENGTH starting XI with no chances taken.

This match will see Tim Flowers return to Ewood as he now works as the assistant manager for the Sky Blues. The match will take place on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 5th/6th January 2008; the full Third Round draw is as follows:

Preston v Scunthorpe
Port Vale/Chasetown v Cardiff
Colchester v Peterborough
Bolton v Sheffield United
Blackburn v Coventry
Brighton v Mansfield
Northampton/Walsall v Millwall
Charlton v West Brom
Watford v Crystal Palace
Luton/Nottingham Forest v Liverpool
Plymouth v Hull
Aston Villa v Manchester United
Tranmere v Hereford
Tottenham v Reading
Burnley v Arsenal
Bristol City v Middlesbrough
Fulham v Bristol Rovers
Huddersfield v Birmingham
Horsham/Swansea v Havant & Waterlooville
Sunderland v Wigan
Oxford/Southend v Dagenham & Redbridge
Everton v Oldham
Derby v Sheffield Wednesday
Southampton v Leicester
West Ham v Manchester City
Ipswich v Portsmouth
Wolves v Cambridge
Barnsley v Blackpool
Chelsea v QPR
Stoke v Newcastle
Swindon v Burton Albion/Barnet
Norwich v Bury

Another Third Round match that caught my eye was the fact that Aston Villa (4-0 victors at Ewood recently) have AGAIN been drawn against Manchester United as they have appeared to have several times in recent years.

It'll be good to welcome Tim Flowers back, but we would expect Rovers to get through wouldn't we?!?!

nice draw for us. a chance to rest a couple of players after the xmas period.

I don't think so dude, Sparky REALLY loves the FA Cup, so he will put out as stronger team as he can.
Hughes Da Man
sparky never rests players lol, he might make one or two changes, but never dramatic changes to the squad, nice draw though, especially at home
sasman
Yeah but you have to consider, HDM and Thunder, that we now have a strong squad so starting with players like Derbs, Reid, Zhiz etc we aren't putting out a weaker team. Its a good draw for us.
