'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jason Roberts Exclusive

Blackburn striker Jason Roberts looks forward to facing Newcastle and getting over Rovers' 4-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

'Newcastle will be a hard game. But if we can apply ourselves the way we have been recently – bar Wednesday night – we’ll do ok. I think we’ll get a win. They’re not as good defensively as they’d like to be. But then we shipped four goals on Wednesday so I shouldn’t say too much! We have been strong at home apart from against Villa, so we’ll go into the game as confident as we can be after last night’s result.

'Any Sam Allardyce side is going to be big, strong and physical. We try to play a certain brand of football, to get the ball down and play through the midfield. We’re going to attempt to do that and stamp our authority on the game early. If you don’t do that, the players they’ve got are capable of hurting you.'

I think the calls are getting louder aren't they dude. He has to be taken more seriously after that free-kick!

I thought Roberts had a blinder when he came on. My opinion of him is quickly changing. Pushing McCarthy for his starting spot, and we all know Hughes isn't afraid of dropping his 'big names'.
Decimus Poole
Roberts is a decent player enjoying some good form... long may it continue!
