Benni LEFT OUT Of South Africa Squad

Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy has AMAZINGLY been left out of the South African squad for the African Cup of Nations!!!

South African coach Carlos Alberto Parreira has already named his squad for the tournament that runs between January and February 2008, but bizarrely has omitted McCarthy from this selection, so it means that Rovers WILL NOT lose McCarthy as had been feared. His Rovers team-mate (and South African's skipper) Aaron Mokoena has been selected however.

No explanation has been given as to why McCarthy was omitted, as Parreira refused to say, but it appears even stranger as it was Parreira who talked McCarthy out of yet another International retirement! The suggestion being thrown around is that a deal was struck with Rovers for him to miss the tournament, however, he is not the only one, two other first choice South Africans were also left out.

How strange?!?!
However, South African's loss will be Rovers' gain and now the Premiership better watch out in the early part of next year!!!
If only the clubs courting him during the summer had know this, maybe they might have made more of an effort to sign him! Again Rovers' gain.

Great news for Rovers. Even greater news is Mokoena's "loss"...

we're missing 3 certain starters and the likely replacement for one of them in all likelihood. But you have to feel sorry for pompey the most

Spurs could be in a lot of trouble unless they buy some decent defenders in january... (Stay Away From Our Squad!)
