Hughes Refutes Clause Rumours

Blackburn Rovers manager Mark Hughes has denied reports that he has a clause written into his contract that allows him to leave Ewood Park to take up the England job.

Hughes signed his new long-term contract extension with Rovers last week to show his commitment to the club, but this didn't stop reports that Hughes could still be interested in succeeding Steve McClaren as the new England coach, in fact the reports were that Hughes had a release clause written into his contract that would allow him to take over England. Sparky has admitted that a return to International football is something he would one day like, but this will not be for well over a decade.

Hughes told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website "There is no such clause - I have no idea where this has come from.

"I said before and after the Fulham match that in maybe ten, fifteen years I'd possible look at international management again.

"But I'm certainly not looking at an international job at the moment, I'm happy with the job I've got
."

Anyone who thought that Sparky's signing of a new contract would end speculation about his future was sadly mistaken.

OMG!!!! stop it with all this rubbish. can people just accept that we aint some small time operation and that any of our players/managers who do well here arent looking to move at the first chance they get.???
MikeyGamst
WOuldn't worry about it. Looks like Mourinho will get it now, if he's open to the idea and it seems he is then the FA will go for him.

I never thought Hughes would go anyway and when I realised the source of this spurious claim (The Sun) I merely chuckled more in embarrassment for the journalist who was bored enough and over-paid to concopt such a fabrication.

Absolute rubbish!

good point that roversman... but it is still infuriating sometimes.

Some journalists must wake up in the morning and think, what can I right today to fill a few gaps in the newspaper!!! And to think these idiots get paid as well!
Hughes Da Man
Yeah even I could do that... hold on, I do do that but dont get paid for it!!!! dam it loL!!!
