Rovers Play Down Derbyshire Injury

Rovers Play Down Derbyshire Injury

Blackburn Rovers have played down reports that striker Matt Derbyshire has suffered a serious injury, which could keep him sidelined for some time.

Derbyshire picked up a thigh injury in training for the England Under-21's, an injury that meant he was forced to sit out the 1-1 draw with Portugal on Tuesday Evening. However, despite reports that this could be a serious injury and he might be out until 2008 and could even miss "a large chunk of the season" Rovers are playing down such fears, and it is understood that the injury isn't as serious as these thoughts suggest.

The Rovers medical team are going to be examining Derbs today at Brockhall, after this we will have a clearer idea of how long we could be without him (fingers crossed though!!!)

Whenever you hear of any injury to any player you worry, but hopefully (fingers crossed!!!) as early thoughts coming from Rovers are this isn't too serious.

I'm afraid I can't reveal this until the official results (not of the parental tests lol!) of the scans are out lol!
He is having a second scan today, but Rovers HOPE he can be fit for the weekend, so it can't be that bad can it?

What's all this Agga, when did this name catch on lol!
agbonlahor is a player I would get into the set-up ASAP. I've said it before abouts Derbs, but I'll say it again he WILL be part of the England squad at the 2010 World Cup.

Bold prediction there from HDM... maybe you could do what Chris Kirkland's dad did and put £100 on your son to play for england before a certain date?
