Robbie's Back!!!!

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Robbie Savage is closing in on a return from a spell on the sidelines.

Savage suffered a knee injury during October's 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur and underwent surgery in order to rectify the problem.

After six weeks out, the 33-year-old resumed training on Friday and could feature in Sunday's trip to Fulham.

'Robbie trained for the first time on Friday and was full of it afterwards,' Rovers chairman John Williams is quoted as saying in the Daily Star.

'He should be in contention for a place against Fulham.'

I for one wish him a speedy recovery, so that he can come back and pick up another even worse injury.
Blue is the colour
nice and harsh there BITC, bit uncalled for that chief.... good luck Rob. we have missed you
MikeyGamst
Tounge in cheek,
Blue is the colour
But if you add up the "combined months of injuries" he has caused players over the years, he got of kinda easy with only six weeks.
Blue is the colour
hey hey, u have to remember, savage has only been sent of once in a premier league match, so cut the guy some slack
sasman
I cant remember any injuries he's caused... correct me if im wrong please but I cant remember a single one. So as sas says... cut the guy some slcak your just going of reputation.
MikeyGamst
Everyones favourite ? too many Stella's responsible for that sort of sub heading, and at 10 in the morning too.
Chris is Here
To quote someone "it was tongue in cheek".... Havent had a drink for 3 weeks!!!
MikeyGamst
Sav has made a remarkable recovery, although most players do these days with the advanced technology that is used. It will be VERY interesting to see what Sparky does though, will Sav come straight back in, or will he have to take a place on the bench?!?!
Hughes Da Man
I think he could go straight back in but that would perhaps be a bit harsh on the Axe.
MikeyGamst
Blue is the colour - Dude I think you like so many other are under a common misconception that Sav HAS or DOES cause serious injuries to others, I've said this MANY a time when people have claimed he has (quite often when they have been "happy" to see Sav injured) he has NEVER caused a serious injury to anyone, and if he ever has this has been purely accidental.
Hughes Da Man
It will be VERY harsh on the Axe, and that could probably be the final straw for him? He's hinted that he might look to move on, if Sav comes straight back in after injury then I think he might be asking for a move away in January?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Yeah the only serious injureid I can remember any of our players doing are Lucas Neill on Carragher and Axe on Robben. Other than that... its just the media based reputation that is over hyped and false.
MikeyGamst
Thats the problem we face now HDM... so many solid players that you cant please everyone....
MikeyGamst
Touche Mr Mikey on both counts!
Hughes Da Man
Sav serious sour grapes tongue lashing injury to Toshack ! lol
Eddie01
has it only been 6 weeks he's been out? thought it was longer! hopefully he wont be charging in with CRAZY tackles for a while! not at least until he's 110%!!! lol.
SMOKIEJACK
It'll be fine... the crazy tackles are being missed!!!!
MikeyGamst
Good to hear, it need him be a tough game on sunday a lot of runinh which he loves so great news!!!
roverjoy
The most unpredictable team in the League are Fulham so who knows what will happen!?!??!
MikeyGamst
I agree with HDM, I think if Sav does go straight back into the 1st team he will look for a move. It does'nt bother me though as I hope Sav does go straight back in. Mokoena provides good cover, but that's all he really has to offer!
spinaker7081
fair enough spinaker... He is versatile (aaron) therefore is very good cover.
MikeyGamst
I'm glad Sav is on the mend and will be back soon - as for the axe, I'd be surprised if Hughes puts Sav straight back in, usually he takes his time bringing injured players back in.
FreidelNo.1
I dunno... sometimes there are exceptions... Robbie and GOd being a couple of exceptions.
MikeyGamst
There shouldn't really be any exceptions should there, but there are and Sav is probably one of them as you say dude.
Hughes Da Man
True, although he did drop him before he was injured for him to pick up his form
FreidelNo.1
Well you will need to do that but Rob has been playing well this year.
MikeyGamst
Here's hoping he breaks his legs. lol Only joking, although a severe conciusion would be nice! ;)
DeanoVilla
Deano - I think you're secretly jealous and would love Robbie at your club... come on admit it!
FreidelNo.1
I think its the old saying... if he played for you, you would love him... (as stated above).
MikeyGamst
good to see him back....he's a character if nothing else............
ernshaw
Hes more than that ernshaw but people dont see that through their tinted glasses.
MikeyGamst
now that's a game I'll look forward too :-)
merlin
My mate once descriped Savage as 'the salt in the stew'. Not the first ingredient you think of, but you you know when it's not there and it always adds flavour when it is there. A perfect summary of our Mr Savage, I think. In addition, I apologise for my recent abscenteeism. I have got a new computer at work, and I have been slowly adding the old favourites. VF is now added...
Decimus Poole
You are excused Decimus Poole.
I REALLY like the summary of Sav, and it is spot on as well, hopefully this will catch on dude.
