Reid Suffers Fresh Setback

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Steven Reid has suffered ANOTHER injury setback as he looks to get back after a nightmare 14-months out through injuries.

After over a year out with a back and then knee injury the Republic of Ireland International was forced off after only 28 minutes of his latest reserve outing, limping away from the 0-0 draw with Liverpool. The initial diagnosis is a hamstring strain, which isn't as bad as it could have been and reserve manager Glyn Hodges is insistent that his immediate substitution was precautionary and is not too serious.

Hodges (after Tuesday Evenings game) told the Official Blackburn Rovers Website: "It looks as if he's got a bit of a strain.

"He felt a bit of uneasiness but it's not a massive problem.

"It was a precaution to get him off the pitch. We'll be able to assess it more in the morning

All we can do is HOPE that it is nothing more than a strain, and he can simply continue his rehabilitation as soon as possible.

Obviously I REALLY hoped that he would be able to get back with no problems, but this is something I had feared, and do worry about his long term fitness as I can see him constantly picking up knocks and niggles, if not something more serious?!?!
Fingers crossed though!!!

By the sounds of things this morning it was merely a precuation.
Redi is a big player for us and the staff at rover will know how to gradually bring him back - they did the same when we had bellamy. He'll be ok
Hopefully.... fingers crossed anyway???
It reminds me of when we had Paul Warhurst - quality player but just had such a bad run of injuries with us
Steven Reidhust... sounds about right I think,
saying that I think we saw less of warhurst!
I'm not sure.... its a close call... sasman is good for figures, get him on it.
shame about warhurst as he was a great player - I think Reid was just getting into gear when his injuries struck
Shame as he"s a good player,i know we were intrested in him just before he got injured.I heard a whisper that Temmu Tainio is intresting Hughes & could be set for a switch in January to you guys.....??Chalky76 THFC
Nah that aint gonna happen chalky.. he aint got the Hughes spirit. Havent seen you for a while....
Well fingers crossed it all looks good for Reidy, hopefully this brush (but escape!) from injury will be a turning point for him?!?!
welcome back chalky, long time no see, we've missed you :) I've not heard the Tainio whispers myself, he's not a bad little player so I'd not rule it out and probably wouldn't mind if he did come here, he can crack a shot can't he.
