McCarthy Top Rovers Forward

Vital Blackburn's most recent Poll asked, "Forward of the Month for October?" We voted in favour of Benni McCarthy.

No surprises with the Forward or the Month for October (unlike September) as with a massive 65% McCarthy rightly this month picks up the honour, as he has recaptured his form after being shadow of himself in the early months of the season.

Roque Santa Cruz's 27% sees him finish as runner up to McCarthy, and as such he also advances to the overall Player of the Month poll, taking place now.

Matt Derbyshire (9%) completed the poll.

So in summary
Matt Derbyshire - 8%
Benni McCarthy - 65%
Roque Santa Cruz - 27%

The positional searches for October's Player of the Month are now out of the way, the overall vote to determine the Player of the Month for October will now take place as the current poll is asking, "Player of the Month for October?"

As for what you think, cast your vote and why not have your say on the latest polls findings.

A clear, obvious and deserving winner, Benni's back to his best!!!
And I get to use that image again, my new found favourite.
Hughes Da Man
Now Mourhinho's left Chelsea you should be pretty safe to keep him in January.
dazza71
Unless he gets a job with a European team before?!?!
Hughes Da Man
Well deserved Benni..let's hope he can continue to score goals...and so Roque. I know they'll both score against Manchester!
diegoveron
Got my vote, simply brilliant!
martinr
the rnb combination up front is really coming to life and rocking the premiership!!!!
sasman
I kicked Benni of my dream team, then the rest is history. Everytime. Just to think replaced him with Torres.
Real Deal
If that's true, Real Deal, then get rid of all your Blackburn players, immediately!
Desert Kiwi
He has been like a new player this month. He was even furously chasing down the ball on Saturday evening i never thought I'd see the day!!!!
MikeyGamst
The hunger is back, as is the desire to be successful here, this is what we needed,
Hughes Da Man
Back playing well and had a real good game against Liverpool - never seen him run so much!
FreidelNo.1
Real Deal I demand you never pick another Blackburn player in your dream team ever again!!!! lol
MikeyGamst
lol i agree lads, realdeal i think u should pick as many tottenham and arsenal players that u can lol
sasman
And Man U in time for the weekend.
MikeyGamst
lolll hope u havent run out of transfers lol
sasman
No shocker he was voted your top Forward is it? He is a quality player.
Blue is the colour
Your right BITC, he is a storming forward when he is in the mood... and at the moment he really is. As i said earlier I have never seen him close down as much as he did on Saturday.
MikeyGamst
lol i hope he is up for it this wk, we need a big game from our big players
sasman
Benni has often been injured (or suspended?) againt the big teams hasn't he, didn't he miss both Manure games last season? I know he missed the 6-2 against Arsenal away.
I'm sure he'll be up for it, he's VERY hungry for goals and success again isn't he, now that his head is right again.
Hughes Da Man
Nonda played in the 6-2 and got both goals I seem to recall
FreidelNo.1
Yeah, he played REALLY well in that match, I still get angry thinking that we got beaten so heavily, as it was NEVER a 6-2 mauling was it.
Hughes Da Man
He played on the Man U home and away games HDM... he just didnt lay very well so it looked like he wasnt there!!! lol
MikeyGamst
I liked Nonda, but I think his legs have just gone. A shame we didn't have him a couple of years ago!
FreidelNo.1
It's good to see that McCarthy's head is back in the right place. You have to give credit to Hughes man management...A lot of managers may haveplayed him even though he was playing badly, and showing no enthusiasm. Hughes took him to one side, told him, got him training more, stuck him on the bench for a few games, and it has paid dividends. So well done McCarthy, and well done Hughes (the HAM partnership...?)
Decimus Poole
Well said - I think Hughes doesn't take much s**t from his players and isn't afraid to crush egos...
FreidelNo.1
too right... anyone who gets ahead of their station should be put on the bench... its a team game.
MikeyGamst
And to think we could have had him years ago! Another Doug Ellis master stroke haggling over 500k :(
DeanoVilla
Nevermind - maybe he'll score against your lot to show you what you missed out on!
