Rovers' Superman

Rovers' Superman

Following yet another superb display, Brett Emerton recieved the man of the match award in the league match against Liverpool. AFter the match, Mark Hughes spoke to Radio Rovers, with the official Blackburn site posting the following comments quoted by Sparky

'Brett is a great athlete and he has that great versatility that we can play him in different positions and he can affect the game. He's not one of those players who moans and groans because he is not playing in his favourite position, he just gets on with it. He's a great professional and i thought his performance was excellent'

At the start of the year, many had doubts of Emertons ability as a right back. However, he is shown the critics the door, combining with Bentley on the right flank.

Emerton has raised his performances to another level with Sasman calling for a new contract for the lad.

Hopefully, Emerton continues his grat form for Rovers, and hopefully lead the Aussies into the next world cup hehehe

Yeah you are right sas Emerton has been superb this season, well in all truth for the past season and a bit on the whole. I know he still gets caught out defencively at times, but he has been very good, and much better than most expected.
His combination with Bents has been outstanding at times hasn't it.

We'll never be able to replace Brad! Emerton had a great game - we're lucky to have players who can slot in and play well in other positions when we have injuries

When u look back at that other Aussie we used to have on our books who played at rite back but went to West Ham, not for the money of course, but for "Footballing Reasons" lol It was the best thing that could've happened for Emerton! He has really come on since and although still not the best tackling rite back in the league his work with Bentley has been a massive plus for the team!

he still can hold his own when tackling, lets not forget that, i think his only weakness is positioning, thats were players like ooijer and nelsen can help out
