Dunn: We're On Target For Success

Blackburn midfielder David Dunn has revealed that manager Mark Hughes sets monthly goals for the team in a bid to take them to a higher level.

The plan which has been used by Hughes in previous seasons seems to be working with Rovers getting off to a marvellous start to the season.

They face Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday, having lost only one of their nine league games.

Dunn, speaking on Rovers Official Website, clarified: 'The manager has stated his intentions by setting targets for the players every month.

'We are well on track, having made a great start to the campaign.

'We feel we can take points anywhere we go now the way we are playing.'

Dunn is pleased to be getting a regular run in the side after an injury-hit spell at Birmingham.

He said: 'It takes time to get your match fitness and I feel good at the moment.

'I am playing in a number of positions and I am happy about that as there is competition for places here.

'I am looking forward to the rest of the season as we are in a good position.

'We have not started well the last two years, so it is a nice change. If we can kick on after Christmas we will be right up there.'

Dunn is delighted fellow midfielder Steven Reid appears to be over his injury problems.

Reid returned after a 15-month abscence because of knee and back injuries on Monday when he played for the reserves.

Dunn said: 'He has a great attitude and is at a club that thinks the world of him.

'He is a superb player, who gets up and down the pitch. He also has a great range of passing.'

Mikey.

Get in Dunny... dont give the scret away though. It is a plan that has served us well before, until it fails lets keep doing it!!!

Indeed, Dunny is really maturing now and has become a leader on and off the pitch. I wonder if this was one of Hughes targets for him. I hope we can pull off a result on Sunday but am nervous now!

I have always maintained thatif Dunny stayed fit then we would get the best out of him. The game against Arsenal this year was his best ever Rovers perforamance!!! go on my son!!!
MikeyGamst
He was tremendous in that match but he was also one of the stars of Readings demolition. I just hope he goes from strength to strength and starts scoring more again.

ah yes this is good to hear! dunny is class i also liked his comments about reidy im sure he knows how frustratin it can be on the sidelines for a long period of time its good for reid to have someone there who he can look at and take a bit of heart and see that you can have a long lay off and still come back and be better than ever!

I always forget he can play on the left... keeping MGP out at the moment aint he??? if he plays how he has been doing then I am sure that may continue.

Stay fit Dunn and keep playing well - I don't like it when the players brag about how well we're doing as we usually trip ourselves up! I'm with Mikey, don't give the secret away!
