Rovers Reserves Score 5 AGAIN!!!!!!!

Rovers Reserves Score 5 AGAIN!!!!!!!

After their 5-1 routing of Morecambe in the Lancashire Seniors Cup, Blackburn Rovers Reserves were back in league action against the Sunderland Reserves.

Steven Reid, playing his first competitive match for almost 14 months, started the game, as did Bruno Berner. As against Morecambe, Rovers got away to a flier, with early goals to Sergio Peter as well as Keith Treacy.

Steven Reid was substituted after 55 minutes, no thank God, not through injury, rather match fitness. Henchoz scored a rare goal, with Jamie Clarke and Bruno Berner wrapping up a delightful 5-0 victory.

A convincing win by our reserve squad. Great to see Steven Reid back in action, consistent throughout the night. Goals for Henchoz and Berner also show that we do have depth when required, even our defenders can score

Both Peter and Treacy are rare talents. Did Rigters not play? I watched him against Morecambe when he went off injured after 30 mins. He looked very good. One of the strongest, most powerful players I have ever seen apart from Al. Nice to see Jamie Clarke got one... very deserving. Can't make up my mind about Berner. All our youngsters have immense talent, but the match sounds a bit one sided? One or two older heads can make a big difference at that level.

Another encouraging result to demonstrate our strength in depth. Great that Reidy has got some match time under his belt now. Let's hope his progression continues.

Its great news about Ried but we have been this close before to his return to the 1st team and ut hasnt happened, I just hope for his sake that this time he's ok, cos he will be a massive lift for a team that are doing really well at the min. He's an important player for us and it would be brilliant to have him back where he belongs - on the football pitch! Good news about Berner as well, he looked decent enough in wot we have seen of him!

But has he really been this close though, he's broken down in training but not actually got a reserve game under his belt has he?!?! Hopefully this is the turning point though, and a few more of these or behind closed doors games will sort him out.
There are A LOT of talented players (young and old) in the reserves now aren't there, people may say the squad lacks depth, but I don't think so.
