Rigters Not Looking To Move On

Blackburn Rovers striker Maceo Rigters has reacted to the reports that he could have actually been the instigator of a possible loan move away from Ewood Park.

Rigters has denied that his comments in an interview given to the Dutch media were actually expressing a desire to move away from Ewood on loan, instead he has said that this is not his desire and he is VERY much prepared to stay and fight for his first team place, as he had been all along.

Rigters is quoted as saying (in response to the suggestion he did ask to go): "Did I say that? No, I never said such a thing. I am happy to stay here and fight for my chance.

"Regarding my development, we'll see how it goes, but I am not thinking about leaving.

"Manager Mark Hughes has said he has faith in me and I could possibly be in the squad for this weekend's game
."

I would suggest that if fit (however, he did pick up and injury in the last reserve game didn't he?) he will definitely be in the squad, if he is fit and Matt Derbyshire also misses out then it is highly likely that he will start.

It's good to hear that Rigters is actually denying what was said, the media can all to often twist what is said can't they?!?!
If he is fit then he has a great chance of playing this weekend surely, especially if Derbs also misses out.

has he played any so far?

I want his football to do the talking now because when ever he has played for us he hasn't looked a world beater so let's hope he can make an impression on Saturday, given the chance!

With Derbs (and maybe even Santa Cruz now!!!) fit then his chance that looked odds on, might have to come from the bench after all?!?!
Agree though dude, his football on the pitch has to do the talking now.
