Here's the latest press release from Ewood Park (BELOW) on a new junior membership scheme being started by Blackburn Rovers during the October half term.
Rovers Launch Membership Scheme For Young Fans
Blackburn are throwing open the doors at Ewood Park to supporters as part of a half term fun day to officially launch the club's new junior membership scheme Team Rovers.
Fans will be able to watch the first squad put through their paces by Mark Hughes and his coaching team, and the players will also be signing autographs for supporters at the end of the session.
Rovers stars Robbie Savage, Benni McCarthy, Chris Samba, David Bentley, Brad Friedel, Matt Derbyshire and Morten Gamst Pedersen will be on view at the training session, which starts at 11am on Monday, October 22.
During the day there will be other entertainment around Ewood for fans to enjoy including penalty competitions, face painting and bouncy castles.
Team Rovers is free for all under 16s to join and membership includes a gym bag, goodie packs, discounts on soccer schools, birthday and Christmas cards from the players and the chance to be a player escort on a match day.
The club's sales and marketing team is looking at several initiatives to encourage more younger supporters to come to matches including a schools offer which sees a group of 10 children go for £3 each with two accompanying adults getting in for free.
Mark Hughes said: "Young fans form the next generation of Rovers supporters and we want them to support the local team and have Rovers players as their heroes.
"It is great for younger fans to be able to see their favourite players close up and we hope as many as possible will turn up to watch them and see how we train.
"It's half term and there will be plenty of parents looking for ways to entertain their children so we are encouraging them to come down, enjoy the entertainment and sign up for Team Rovers."
