Derbyshire Strikes Again

Derbyshire Strikes Again

Now this is what we want to see Matty Derbyshire in the news for.

Mr Derbyshire continues is goalscoring form, scoring the only and winning goal in England's Under 21 Euro 2008 qualifier against Montenegro.

Derbyshire got the scorers working on the 20th minute, scoring his 6th goal for club and country this season. This goal moves England to the top of their qualifying group, remaining undefeated after three games.

I say congrats to the lad, he sure knows where the back of the net is; hopefully he gets the opportunity to take over from Roque Santa Cruz if Benni Mac does not hit form.

The Thunder From Down Under, reporting for VBer News.

It's certainly something for us to look forward to. I was expecting him to maybe get a bit of a chance either this, or next season. This season is looking doubtful now, but next season surely he will play some part?!?!

I watched the U21 match and without being biased Derbyshire shone!! He will be a big talent, if he isnt already! His goal was taken with a maturity belying his years and experience. Wont be long until he is in the full squad and fully deserved it will be. I just hope he has more luck than Defore and Crouch in the seniors, very talented players going to waste

I can see you being right dude, I have previously said that I could see him being part of the 2010 World Cup Squad, something I am sticking by.
